Q: Does it have an air intake, so it doesn't create a vacuum when you drink?

I can confirm that our bottle has a air hole valve that allows you to drink from the bottle without causing a vaccuum.

Q: does it keep water cold or would outside temperatures affect it - like using it for Africa

I haven't used it in especially hot temperatures but it tended to keep the water cool when I used it. I wouldn't say it kept it really cold but quite cool. Mine was in the British winter weather and so I can't be sure.

Q: I bought this bottle, it's very good but makes a slight whistling sound when drinking from it. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes but it's the air going in as you drink. Only happens if I'm really thirsty and drink fast, try drinking a little slower or softer

Q: Perfect gift for morning work people?

Yes really good as it doesnt leak and can go in the top rack of dishwasher. I bought 1 for each member of the family.
