No idea what it is, but only 50% of the oil is cod liver oil. There is only 85mg of EPA and DHA too and that's a combined total. This same aftertaste will definitely happen if taking with a hot drink as the shell will break down. Personally, I switched to the oil with multivitamin ones as the don't repeat on me half as much as the straight oil ones do."}}]}]}
