I want to get a 3m set up, a 6000 mask and all the gubbins but cant figure out all the parts I need!

You'll need a filter platform which attaches to the face mask. Depending on what you want to filter out this can be a 603 filter platform or a gas/vapour filter like the 6055. You'll then need 5935 particulate filters which fit on the outside of your chosen platform and are held in place by 501 filter retainers.

Do these filter retainers fit 3m reusable full face mask 6800?

They fit onto the filter units directly rather than onto the mask. They fit A1 filter 6501 (which I have), so if that would fit your mask then the answer is yes.
