easy to set up and a good picture quality
It seems a high quality unit, easy to set up and a good picture quality, but the sound! I understand that is a small TV and so the speakers too are small, but Increasing the sound towards maximum barely makes a difference and the quality is very poor - weak and totally lacking in bass and depth - very disappointing! It was a Christmas gift and my partner commented on the sound straightaway, asking if there was anyway of improving it. I have bought a XMI X-Mini II 2nd Generation Capsule Speaker and the difference is amazing,

Great Little Portable TV/Radio
August DTV905 9" High Resolution Freeview LCD TV & PVR Recorder / Media Player / Photo Displayer - Powered by Mains or Rechargeable Batteries (Internal)Really impressed by the high resolution picture quality.Pin sharp with the factory-set colour, contrast and brightness spot on.Did the initial channel installation with the roof aerial. All the tv/radio channels that I get with my lounge TV came on,plus 3 extra.I then hesitantly switched to the tiny aerial provided and to my surprise found that the picture was still the same after slight positional adjustments - but then I live in a good reception area. The stereo sound is excellent too, from speakers at either end of this tab - it's a joy watching films or listening to digital radio.Have not tried the USB function yet but I feel sure that'll be quite a bonus. It's not heavy at all and I like the fact that it has a rechargeable internal battery plus the mains,so it's really portable. The handy remote works well but you have to be fairly close to it.The provided manual is basic but informative. It looks good, feels good and is very well designed.Needless to say,I am very pleased with this product,so of course - 5 stars. As a footnote,I must add that the customer service at Daffodil seems very good, ringing me back promptly in reply to an email query.

Utterly great little TV
This is such a fabulous item! I've not even used all of the functions and already I love it and would buy it again! The quality is good, picture is great - it's backlit so you can see it from any angle (makes the picture seem bigger somehow) and will be great in the tent or caravan - whilst at home it sits in the kitchen unobtrusively offering some company when needed.I am in a strong signal area and the little area that comes with it gives all the channels, even whilst stuck to the fridge (which is toward the back of the kitchen and middle of the house). May need to buy a slightly stronger aerial for other areas but I can't say for sure.I managed to get a 'used' item so cheaper, it is in perfect condition (box a tad scruffy but who cares about that?!)THOROUGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM!

... bargain compared to full price and it was in good condition. I got it exclusively to record TV ...
I bought this second hand for about £35 so it was a bargain compared to full price and it was in good condition. I got it exclusively to record TV programmes to watch while I was in the gym (as wifi is pretty poor to use my tablet). The TV has a function that allows schedule recording so I could record programs from different channels and at different times. Sounded great. I eventually worked out how to do this with less than adequate instructions from the manual but, would you believe it, it only works if the TV is switched on. It has no standby mode! I'm still trying to get my head round this ridiculous omission. It can't be true. I need to leave the TV on, playing all the time to schedule record. And if I don't need to leave it on then there is nothing in the manual or on line that tells me otherwise. Also the mini aerial is hopeless. If you want to watch TV live and you have a very good signal in the house or a mains aerial cable, this TV is OK but forget the record function unless you are prepared to stand over it and press the record button when your chosen programme comes on. You might as well just stay and watch it. Very disappointed and for me a complete waste of money.

Very Buggy, but looks and views well. Be aware, is a issue ladend Mini HDMI port and no supplied cable.
First the major cons:I wanted this as a portable screen for my Mac Mini. It said it had an HDMI port so that would be fine. Unfortunately not the case. Firstly it has an HDMI port, but its a mini port, not a full sized HDMI port as stated in the description. So that's a £12 extra you need to spend as a mini HDMI cable is not included. Secondly, the port doesn't work with any of the five devices I tried to connect to it. Mac Mini, Samsung TV, Sony DVD Player, etc, etc... Just a Blue screen on the AV setting. The other issue is that it would intermitently let out a death curdling scream like warble, that sounded like a dying bird, dreadful. Amazon gave me the email address of the manufacturer, but nothing heard. As others have said, its inbuilt ariel is totally inadequate for most UK TV locations. Works fine if you have a loft or roof mounted aerial, but that just defeats the portability benefit. However, TV was not the main reason for purchasing this item. The remote control is a bit hit and miss if you stand too close to the screen, so you need to be at least 2 meters away for a consistently good connection. The sound is incredibly tinny from the in-built speakers, but surprisingly good from connected headphones, but they were Bose.As to the positives. It has a good solid build quality and looks very nice. The picture quality is also very good and the screen can be viewed from a number of angles without noticeable picture quality loss. I have not tried the battery only operation, but if it achieves over 2 hours that's not bad.Unfortunately, I have had to send mine back, as it is not fit for my purpose and possibly might be faulty, shame. Normal hassle free response form Amazon.
