An excellent product, does what it says and the price is a bargain.
I’ve bought two Slendertone ab belts in the past and was very happy with their performance, but saw this particular model and thought I’d give it a try.I’ve had a break from using these ab belts for a good three years relying on Bullworker and wheel exercisers instead, but decided on impulse to look at the belt devices again. This new product resembled a Slendertone in terms of its overall look, however the control unit is attached to the belt and is not incorporated into the design in the same way as a Slendertone, is this a problem? No, because it has a bigger and clearer display and it’s also easier to understand with much larger buttons, so I find it an improvement when compared to the Slendertone model, besides, there’s a small pocket to store the control unit on the belt itself if you so desire, however I prefer to lay on the bed for 30 minutes, so I just placed it next to me, it’s connecting wire is only several inches long.It comes with generic batteries, although I had a box full of the Energiser brand, so I popped in two of those instead (the AA size) as I’m familiar with how long they tend to last, however I’ll likely resort to rechargeable batteries at some point. It was nice to see there’s none of those expensive sticky pads required, which aren’t cheap to keep replenishing, plus, they have a habit of sticking to the skin when you remove the belt. The unit incorporates four pads, strategically placed to target the side and front muscles, plus a tube of water based gel which therefore doesn’t stain. A small amount of gel, applied to each pad in turn, is all that’s required, after which you simply wrap the device around the waist. The Velcro fastener incidentally is very strong. All I then did was to lay down on the bed for half an hour, set the type of pulse I preferred, there are several to choose from, I tried 2 for approximately 30 seconds but quickly decided on one which suited me and then I proceeded to alter the intensity, initially up to 30 (the highest is 99) but then increased this over several minutes to 60.In terms of potential discomfort, this will vary from person to person, so totally ignore my personal settings mentioned above and obviously adjust to suit your own personal needs.I did experience soreness on the left side when I first used it, possibly because I had a hernia mesh repair in that area in August 2022, so with the left button I decreased the intensity for 5 minutes which curtailed that issue, but after 15 minutes I managed to equal the two sides again without experiencing any identical discomfort.Because of the hernia, nearly two years ago, I won’t increase the intensity to its maximum, even if I could cope with it, but it isn’t necessary.I did seek my doctor’s advice before restarting this type of exercise and he naturally suggested not doing anything to excess, which is why I had the hernia issue in the first place, but he did say that it was liable to place less harmful strain on the area when compared to other forms of abdominal exercisers, especially if I planned on laying down on a bed when using the device.I left the session length at 30 minutes, I could have shortened this, or stopped it at anytime I wanted with a simple push of a button, but because I’ve used this type of belt for a few years previously I decided to try it for a full 30 minutes, which frankly, lying on the bed, going through Tik Tok reels and my Facebook feed, it seemed to fly past. The overall effect? The contractions were certainly visible and were clearly felt, I experienced no soreness afterwards, but having used these devices before, and incorporated such exercises in my normal daily routine, that perhaps wasn’t too surprising, my waist area felt more taut, especially internally following completion.I appreciate there are no pads to buy, but there is the gel to replenish, however the sticky pads seem to wary from person to person in terms of how long they last, depending on the intensity of each workout and how often the unit is used, with the gel however you can clearly see when it’s time to reorder, so for me, if I’m going to replace anything, the gel is the better and cheaper option.I paid £39.99 for this product and bearing in mind the cost of certain items which look similar, I consider this device to offer superb value for money.I’d certainly recommend it if you’re in the market for a reasonably priced abs trainer that does what it says on the tin so to speak, or perhaps you’re merely looking for a change from an existing model.

Works well with care.
Works well but do not turn it up too much, it was so uncomfortable it frightened me. Use with care.

I have my confidence back after a week!
I received my Ab Flex belt a week ago and thought I'd initially wait until after I've fully experimented with it for a few days before reviewing. Firstly, the product arrived much earlier than expected [4 days!] and was extremely well packaged, very secure and well packed. Before arrival I got an e-mail from the vendor thanking me for the purchase and making it clear that if there were any problems when I received the belt they were there to give any assistance necessary. I thought this was a very nice touch indeed.I had been quite dubious about buying the belt as there has been a lot of negative hype about this form of 'passive exercise' not being very efficacious and there was the nagging doubt that I may be wasting my money. My problem - and motivation in purchasing this item - stemmed from having suffered several abdominal injuries several years ago in a freak accident which had resulted in severe tears, ruptures and a central abdominal hernia which had been quite pronounced and had required surgery. This had basically left me with no confidence for a few years when it comes to doing any form of 'core' work. I was constantly terrified of anything that could possibly re-open the wounds. [Basically I was psychologically affected by the incident.] So in a three year period my belly got a lot bigger, my posture became awful, I lost a lot of tone everywhere [ the 'knock on' effects of leaving out core work] and the lack of confidence meant that there was nothing I could do about it.So I [in desperation] though "why not at least give it a go" with regard to the Ab Flex Toning Belt. I can do it just sitting down on a low setting and it will be gentle yadda yadda yadda.....It is frankly fantastic! Although there's barely any sort of visible change [it's only been a week after all] the effects it has already had on my confidence and posture have been outstanding. It is easy to fit with an adjustable belt. and the controls are very easy to use and understand. It comes with a booklet explaining the device and the functions and how to use them.I started with a ten minute warm up on a vey low setting. I basically did ten minutes on very low for each of the ten functions during the first day so I could get the feel of them - find the sensations that felt better for me. I experimented with belt placement [high, central or low] on my abdomen [wearing it low on the 'vibrate' setting really makes me feel the soft paunch that I developed working directly] and even strapped it on backwards so it was on my lower back just above my buttocks and could feel my posture being brought back very quickly! [This is not on the list of things you should do, this was just me experimenting but it worked!]Now, after just one week, I am doing a ten minute 'kneading' warm up followed by twenty minutes of 'toning' and then after a brief rest a full thirty minutes of the 'training' setting. In the evening I repeat.I am standing straighter, walking better, and my abdomen is noticeable firmer than it has been in years and this has seen a slight decrease in my girth not brought about through weight loss but by the muscles actually being used properly again! . This is after one week. To say I'm delighted is an understatement. They say that you begin to notice the change visibly [as in abs being 'etched' out etc.] after about four weeks of daily use so I will be adding a further review in a months time. But this first week has already got my confidence flooding back.I think that we tend to associate this sort of device with those terrible things that were 'the thing' about 20 years ago that simply didn't do much. But this is that technology actually developed.I have been so delighted with how it works that my partner has actually had to tel me off several times for thinking about doing a third workout and constantly wanting to put it back on for 'just another ten minutes, just another half hour' etc.Basically it works. And I am delighted.I WILL review again after one month when the changes should be more visible, and after six months for the longer term effects.ALMOST 4 WEEKS ON ADDITION:Okay this is a few days earlier than I expected to add to my review but I cannot tell you how delighted I am with this. I have lots 2 inches off my waist in a little under a month. Now I should stress that this is not fat burnt off, my weight hasn't changed much and I don't have this suddenly appearing ripped to the bone 6 pack. This is old muscle memory being activated, the muscle remembering what it is supposed to do. Instead of my abs simply sagging and not holding anything in without a lot of effort they have simply firmed up tremendously, my posture has improved dramatically and my midriff is firmer than it has been in years. I haven't got to the point where I'm using it when I do planks yet but with the confidence now soaring I will be by the end of this week! I was very sceptical but now I would not be without this ab-belt. I actually feel like I can now return to doing proper ab workouts [you know how we lie to ourselves about why we avoid them because we know we won't be able to get off our backs after some crunches without looking like a floundering whale? That's gone!] I'm bending down to pick things up off the floor without having to go to one knee! I feel fantastic. To have gone from a 40" waist to a 38" waist for real in less than one month is incredible. And as I say, that's just the tone returning so far not fat burning. I will report back in 6 months to give the long term effects.SIX MONTHS RESULTSOkay, after using the belt for six months here are my results as promised. As stated previously my posture was improved almost immediately allowing my far more flexibility and the ability to actually control my stomach muscles better when simply standing after the hernia problems. My confidence to move and stress the area returned rapidly thanks to this as well as the initial reduction in girth. That initial reduction of 2 inches in the first month has turned into an 8 inch reduction in my waist in six months. This is not entirely down to the belt alone as along with my confidence returning so did my ability to move and take proper exercise, and with that came a tightening of the diet. The belt alone I believe acts best as a 'facilitator' which will tighten and tone and actually allow you to do the movements fully that were previously restricted by slack stomach muscles. It has an almost immediate [first week] affect upon self-confidence as the posture improvements come almost immediately. It also allows [once you reach a strong enough level] some pretty extreme ab workouts i.e. I wear the belt on full whilst performing planks for 7 minutes - unthinkable six months ago when I couldn't even do one minute WITHOUT the belt! But don't be misled by it, this is not a fat burner device. To do that you need to tighten your diet and do actual fat burning exercises. Rather it simply helps to strengthen and tone and works superbly as a tool to assist the efficacy of whatever else you do - and also to prepare your core in an easy way before you start a regime. So with my waist down from 42" to 34" in six months, [I should add that as an ex-bodybuilder there is a certain amount of 'muscle memory' involved here and it is therefore easier for my musculature to return to previous forms than someone who has never trained.] I am utterly UTTERLY delighted at what this belt has allowed me to achieve. I cannot recommend this EXTREMELY SAFE device highly enough. But remember, it is still up to you to do the work, the belt will not do it on its own, but WILL enable you to forge ahead at a grand pace.

Waste of money!
The media could not be loaded. Put brand new Duracell batteries in as some reviews recommended it. Intensity levels don’t work and it switches itself off. I had already thrown the box away, so only have the storage bag it comes in, was hoping for a replacement, but customer service only shows to return for refund.
