Hi, is this ok with a passive fender? I'm a newbie bassist, thank you :)

Personally, I cut the signal from my active basses to match my passives. The most important part of my board is the Electroharmonix Hum de-bugger. I work round that. If I chopped off the top instead, it wouldn't be an issue. I also use the new Electroharmonix bass preacher. The soul preacher is probably OK for your Fender. As I play mainly 35" 5 string with dropshots, it is always a battle to control overloads from the B and E. I split my signal and lightly compress this bottom end. I keep it clean until I need otherwise. It works for how I use it. I also Tick Tack with a Baritone through the same rig. The full Duane Eddy.
