fantastic price and great sand!
i was a bit concerned buying this as there were no reviews on here yet, but decided to give it a go, as it was such a good price compared to others id seen, i was worried about cloudiness ect, but this sand is great, i rinsed it thoroughly {packaging said to rinse until water runs clear, it was clear straight away, though i did continue rinsing just incase) i then soaked it in water conditioner before adding it to the tank, my tank was already full of water and this fell beautifully straight to the bottom of the tank, no clouding or anything it just settled beautifully, there were a few air pockets which made a few bits of sand form little balls which floated about, but you just pop them and they fall to the bottom too, it has a lovely deep black colour, although when i put the bright light on in the tank it makes it look brown, but i don't often use this light, so that's not a problem, it also went a lot further than i thought it would and i have plenty left for my large tank when i get it, i will be aquascaping the large tank so although its massive i will only use it at the front, as the back will be soil and plants. my corydoras seem absolutely love it, its nice and soft for them to big around in :):) i'm so happy i bought this and i highly recommend it :):) also was very quick delivery and great price

Good, but not cheap
The gravel itself is fine - quite a homogenous size and colour, kind of off-white/pale grey. A 1kg bag isn't very big though - I thought it would be more than enough to cover the top of a large plant pot, but I could have done with a bit more really. Also, £13 seems really expensive to me considering that you can get 10kg for the same price from a pet shop or DIY store - but then not everyone needs as much as that...

Lovely sand, bargain price and well worth the rinsing!
Lovely sand! I used 3 bags for my 240l aquarium, which gave me a nice thick layer for my plants. It's a bright off-white colour, so beware, as it shows every speck of fish poop. It looks really nice, and it really brightened up my aquarium. My corys absolutely love it. It took a lot of rinsing before the water ran almost clear because it's very dusty, but It settled pretty quickly. I used baking paper so stop the water from kicking the sand up everywhere when refilling my aquarium, then used the hose to gently swish the sand bed around to give it a more natural look, so it wasn't too flat. The water was a little bit cloudy for about 12 hours, then back to it's usual crystal clear. I think this is great value for money, it's much cheaper than you'd pay in an aquatic shop, where you'd easily pay £7+ for a measly 2kg bag. I'd definitely buy it again. Especially when it's in stock for same day delivery.

Looks grey, not black - but I'm not complaining
As others have said, it appears more greyish under the lights rather than black. Nevertheless, it's a lovely fine gravel which is very, very clean with zero dust! It still gives a chic dark look and behaves well in the water.
