Preethi Chefpro Wet and Dry Grinder

I was looking for a machine to grind spices and dehydrated garlic on a small commercial scale and was not willing to spend thousands on a commercial grinder. Likewise, the small coffee grinder that was fine for kitchen use wasn't going to sufficient.I opted for this as the reviews were very favourable and the make had a good reputation. I have been using it for several months and it is an excellent machine. It grinds spices to a fine powder in no time and has no issues with bullet hard dried garlic cloves which are a challenge for most grinders. There are three bowl sizes included, all of which contain a blade and a plastic lid. The tops of the lids can be removed to allow for the addition of ingredients.I did experience a problem when I overloaded one of the bowls and the machine stopped working. After contacting the retailer I was advised that there is a reset button on the base of the unit. Resetting the machine got it working again.I have also noticed that the blade on one of the bowls is starting to slip and therefore not griding properly. This is not much of an issue for me as I almost exclusively use the larger bowl but it's worth bearing in mind.

It's very useful in grinding and it's very durable,nice design, it's been 5 years but still works well.

I am cooking both indian an western food and this machine works wonders for both. I have been cooking a lot my whole life and I cant count the hours spend in the kitchen having problems with a blender that couldnt do what I wanted it to. And i tried many blender! This just does it and even more. Today I made a pesto from very dry sundried tomatoes and oil without having to soak the tomatoes. This I could have never done with any of the other blenders I have had. And it is super fast too. And it can also grind pastes very fine.

This is an excellent mixer/grinder, especially the grinder with which we grind spices, nuts and beans. There is simply no equivalent in European brands which lack the power and the blade design for these operations perhaps because grinding is not seen as so important here.. but it is for us! The machine is solid and robust. So why only 3 stars? The first thing to wear out after two years is the rubber gaskets (O rings) which seal the two jars. These are not good quality and you will find food splashing out once they go. You simply cannot get new ones. The only spare available on Amazon is the motor coupler which will probably be the next to go (- that's good at least!). I contacted Preethi customer services in India who were unable to help with the gaskets even though I offered to pay to have them sent from India - an easy item to dispatch. It is infuriating to have such a good machine without any access to such a simple part. Difficult to understand as there is obviously a substantial customer base in the UK.

Excellent quality. Follow instructions to the letter and you can't go wrong. 200g Hard spices ground to very fine in 2 minutes. Rice ground to fine flour in 2.5 minutes. Jars are of high quality so too are the blades. Shouldn't have any problem making dosa, idlis etc. Motor is not too loud given its power. PGP Enterprises excellent communication. Recommended seller.

My large jar and medium jar have already stopped working within a couple of months.As it is within warranty would need a replacement please.

Excellent grinder, grinds whole spices in seconds, garlic/ginger paste etc seconds, only used the small bowl so far but can tell the motorin the grinder is very powerful so should meet my needs, it has a pulse switch and three power settings, it seems well made and the bowlsare stainless, bought primarily for Indian recipes, I think it should last some time for this use.

Works well for Indian cooking - effortlessly grinds chutneys, etc. But gave us a big scare last weekend when it stopped working. The nearest service centre is 4 hours away near London (I'm in Manchester). Turns out the motor protecting circuit breaker was broken. Thankfully, shorting that brought the mixie back to life.
