Intex 29039 Floating Pool Thermometer

I checked this against a certified thermometer (accurate to 0.1C) and it read 0.5C out. This is good enough for most purpose, and it is now in use in my swimming pool.I also bought another one from Thermometer World (with orange float on top) and that was also 0.5C out, though in the other direction. Though it is a bit more expensive I prefer that one for having a longer scale and clearer markings (and for the fact that I was able to recalibrate it accurately and remove the float for compact carrying in my swimming bag - see my review of it).

Seems accurate enough and easy to read. Maybe it's my OCD being nit-picky, but why couldn't they have weighted this so it floats vertically, rather than at a wonky angle?  13 Pieces Geometry Set Rulers Compass with Protractor Math Tools Set for Students  If this kind of stuff doesn't bother you in the slightest, then feel free to mentally add those missing 2 stars to my review score.

Seems reasonably accurate when held underwater but, left to its own devices, it does not float vertically. There is insufficient weight in the bottom. So it floats on its side and measures the temperature in the top few millimetres of water - which is not really what you want a pool thermometer to do.

I bought this for my pond, temp works fine but it floats horizontally not upright .water gets under glass then hard to see temp.

Bought this to monitor pool temp at a villa on holiday and it worked 100% fine and allowed us to confirm we were receiving the pool heating we had paid for. No problems with any other aspect of it and will take again on next holiday

Does not stay upright in the water. Keeps floating on its side
