Smooth, rich flavour without the caffeine
I’ve been a fan of illy coffee for years, and their decaffeinated whole beans have completely won me over for those late-afternoon or evening cups when I want the coffee experience without the caffeine jitters. If you’re looking for a premium decaf coffee that doesn’t compromise on taste or aroma, this is as good as it gets. The beans come in illy’s signature pressurised metal tin, which helps preserve freshness and aroma much better than most standard packaging. The tin looks smart on a shelf, and the pop you hear when opening it is always a sign of quality. The roast is medium, leaning toward the darker side of medium, and the beans have a lovely glossy sheen without being oily. The smell when grinding is rich and inviting — hints of chocolate, a touch of nuttiness, and a subtle floral edge. It's hard to believe it’s decaf just by the aroma alone.I brew mine with a bean-to-cup machine and occasionally a French press. In both cases, the results are consistently smooth, well-balanced, and full-flavoured. It doesn’t have that flat or bitter edge that many decaf coffees suffer from — instead, you get a rounded espresso with a soft crema, and notes of cocoa, caramel, and mild fruit. It works wonderfully with milk — in lattes and cappuccinos it holds up well without being overpowered, and in an americano, it remains bold but not harsh. Even when taken black, it remains mellow and enjoyable. One of the key highlights is how smooth it is — no harsh bitterness, no acidity overload. It’s ideal for people who love coffee but want to avoid caffeine for health or lifestyle reasons. In terms of the decaffeination process, illy uses a natural method that retains much of the flavour profile of their standard beans. I’ve compared it side-by-side with their caffeinated version and the difference is subtle — the decaf is maybe slightly milder, but still very much in the same premium league. If I had one tiny complaint, it’s that it is a little more expensive than other decafs on the market, but you’re paying for consistent, premium quality. For me, it’s absolutely worth it.In summary, illy’s decaffeinated beans deliver the full-bodied, smooth flavour that coffee lovers crave — without the caffeine. A fantastic choice for any decaf drinker who refuses to settle for second-best. Highly recommended.

Great Coffee Beans bar none!
These are great beans! I love the Illy coffee shops in London, so buying their beans for home was a natural choice for me. These have a great taste and aroma and grind well, to create great cups of coffee.I can't really add more, but if you enjoy ground coffee like I do, I'd try these beans now. Great value too.

Rich and smooth
I usually enjoy Illy coffee beans and have ordered them several times before. The flavor is rich and smooth, and it’s one of my favorites. However, this time the beans tasted a bit stronger and more intense than usual, which caught me by surprise. Still, the quality is good, and I will continue buying it, but I prefer the slightly milder taste I had in previous orders.

Smooth Operator – Mild, Fresh and Great for All-Day Brewing
Having switched from illy’s pre-ground version to these whole beans, I’m now completely sold. The Classico medium roast is smooth, mellow, and has just enough body to satisfy without ever tipping into bitterness. It’s exactly the kind of coffee I can drink throughout the day—stronger in the morning, gentler in the afternoon, all just by tweaking the grind. The aroma when opening the tin is heavenly—that warm, rich, slightly floral scent instantly upgrades your kitchen into a mini Italian café. I use this mostly in a filter coffee machine, and the result is always a clean, consistent cup with subtle notes of caramel and citrus, just as the label promises.Speaking of the tin—it’s well-sealed, keeping the beans fresh for longer, though the initial opening can catch you out. It’s a pressurised pop-top, and if you’re not careful, you might end up with a mini coffee explosion. My tip: open slowly, on a flat surface, and savour that first burst of aroma. While some might say it’s a little pricey, I find it offers great value considering the quality, freshness, and flavour—plus, it’s consistently good across multiple brews and machines.Pros:✅ Smooth, mild flavour – never bitter✅ Fresh, rich aroma – especially on first open✅ Grind-to-taste flexibility – ideal for adjusting strength✅ Well-sealed tin – keeps beans fresh✅ Sustainably sourced & ethically producedCons:❌ Pressurised tin can pop on first open – handle with care!❌ Premium price point – but worth it for qualityFinal Thoughts:If you're looking to level up your home coffee routine, these illy Classico beans are a solid, reliable, and delicious choice. Perfect for everyday brewing and versatile enough to suit any time of day.Would I buy again? Already have.

Love this coffee
Gorgeous flavour coffee. This will be my go to coffee now. The bag is great value for money as you can just rip up your tin. The quality of the coffee is amazing and to be honest this is nicer tasting than the leading brands. The size of the bag is excellent value for money. One of these coffees in the morning helps me to wake up and start my day.

Best decaf coffee beans on Amazon
Cheaper than Tesco’s!Perfect if you want the taste but not the buzz all day. I’ve tried lots and these are the best in combining taste and flavour. A lot claim to have no difference for decaf beans but most do. These however are lovely.I find grind setting 16 on my ninja gives a lovely americano in the morning!

Illy ,an undeniable love
Always a fan of a good cup of coffee made with illy coffee beans. I'm not the first or last telling that but seriously the balanced acidity, the great depth of the coffee's extract, the cream foam it gives and also a bean which can make great espressos and cappuccinos. I always restock when I see it have some prime cut/sale

Good coffee but customer service about returns needs improvement
Can I please get in contact with someone with regards to a replacement of products. I love the coffee and I’ve ordered 2 packs of decaf coffee beans but it looks like I received the wrong product. When trying to return it was mentioned the return is not possible. The coffee is really good and want to keep using it but need to get the right product.
