I was looking for a nicely made chisel set, not cheap and cheerful, but certainly not premium price, for everyday use.My preference is wooden handles for a more tactile experience. Narex get a good name for well made, mid-priced chisels, and when they arrived, I was pleased to see a quality product.I have a couple of comments though, which would have given them 5 stars... the handles are made of some very nice Hornbeam, but the finish is very light... not varnished, and maybe light wax... the handles just feel a tad too open grained. I would have preferred a heavier wax coating or full varnish. Not a deal breaker, but I'll probably fill in the grain with some more wax.My other comment is, the chisels do not come with edge guards. This means that you have to be very careful where you store them to avoid damage to the edge. It would only cost a few pence to include plastic end guards, so disappointed with that, as I'll have to source or make some.

polished yes. Fully sharpened no. Otherwise excellent.
