I previously purchased a DC plug for my portable refrigerator to replace the OEM because the head (that goes to the cigarette lighter/DC) was not stable. I loved it so much that I bought a 2nd one for my other product - my thermo electric cooler / warmer. And it worked! The head is stable as always and will not dislodge as I drive a lot. Worked fine for about a year, but fuse blew and cannot be replaced. Had to buy a whole new cord instead of replacing a $1 fuse.

It has a long heavier wire gauge cord, it has a replaceable safety fuse, and it has strong compression spring negative side contacts and the positive end contact for a secure electrical connection.There should have been an included instruction sheet showing how to change the replaceable safety fuse, so because of the lack of instructions, I took off one rating point from 5 to 4. I cannot unscrew the plug with my hands and I do not want to risk damaging it using toothed pliers.

I needed this cord specifically for my 12V car cooler that had lost its cigarette lighter power cord. It fit perfectly and now I'm back in business.The only thing I had to do was clearly mark the cord on the cooler's end so I knew which way I was plugging the cord it into the cooler. The way most of these 12V coolers work is that when you plug it in one direction the coler will keep the contents cool and if you plug in in the other way (with the polarity reversed) the cooler's fan will spin in the opposite direction and it will keep items inside warm instead of cool
