Spear & Jackson Agriculture Planting/Rabbiting Spade
I purchased this spade, for christmas tree planting ,I am moving over 100 trees to a new planting Location at a local farm and the Tree planting spade [ only one at the farm is not always available] .So I decided the best option was to buy my own , Spear & Jackson have always been a sign of good quality and this spade is well made , and does the job of making planting holes for the trees , with ease , I have re-planted over 20 trees using this spade , excellent.I have recently found a new use for this spade, there are a lot of dock plants and thistles , where I am working the dock plants in particular are a nuisance to dig up because the roots go very deep , the usual for or spade will not do the job but this spade works perfectly .at digging up the entire root system. Brilliant , One of the best Tools I have ever bought .

Lovely weight
This spade is excellent. A great weight to assist digging, well balanced and high quality construction. Great for clay soil planting.

Quality tree planting tool
I bought two of these to plant 800 trees in wet topsoil with a clay base. Strong spade, good weight and the right size for the root ball on 2 year old slips. Recommend.

Professional tree planter
I am professional tree planter (personal best of 2550 trees in a day) and this is a helpful tool to have, not the best for the business as is quite heavy and the blade is very large compared to the bushpro equivalent. The length of the blade does cause it to bend in the middle when bent backwards. That being said, it's useful when planting certain hardwoods, such as oak that have long tap roots. Also having large footplates means it can be good tough, sometimes rocky ground. Not the best for speed and numbers, but a useful tool to keep.

Planting Spade.
Looks to be well made and durable.I’ve used it to notch plant 200 small hedging plantsand it worked fine in heavy clay soil. All at a good price so I would recommend it.

Good she spade
I have dug post holes with this and it sliced through my clay soil easily after it had been raining for a few days. The length of it is good for me, a petite lady. The lugs are a generous platform for getting your feet onto, making digging easier. Excellent narrow form for working in tight spaces and beyween plants. Balances nicely and isn't so heavy as to be tiring to use. Next job, planting bulbs en mass.

Heavy spade
This spade is so heavy! I'm disappointed. I have reverted back to my old spade and find myself avoiding this spade due to the cumbersome weight.
