yes it works
i bought the 1000 grit to sharpen carbide on a table saw blade. it worked , but too fine , 600 grit is fantastic. the only draw back was the hole was too small for the angle grinder that it was to be installed on...on my home built sharpener. i carefully enlarged the hole to the size i need on the metal lathe. bottom line is...yes it sharpens carbide very fast and easily. yes buy it, if the hole size will work for you. it also smooths cut glass like when you make a drinking glass from a beer bottle.
