I read through this last night and can report that this is a thorough and well thought out work book that is intended for reader input. Each chapter has an area where there are questions to be answered and the answers are after. This is not a book containing a list of works to learn or an Italian dictionary. This is a really good basic guide with exercises to improve your Italian.My top tip is, the approach to this book is quite old school. I don’t mind this, but to get the most out of this you really need to understand grammar. I'm afraid I was a bit disappointed with this book. While the content is ok if you stick with it, visually it is just sooo boring.

Great practice book!

A good starter book for learning Italian

My dream is to be a polyglot. I’m very good at languages and have learned Spanish for eight years. I’m also learning Japanese on the side and half now chosen to add Italian to the mix. The explanations of grammar counting and conjugation is plain and simple and doesn’t leave you guessing a tip from me would be to write your answers from the book on a separate sheet of paper so that way you can go back and redo it if you need to. Italian is not as easy as Spanish is for people whose first language is English. But this book will really have you speaking it quickly!

Maybe it's just me, but I find this difficult.I should have ordered the Italian for dummies.
