I bought 2x256GB 3.0 USBs. Only 231GB is usable per unit. I tried to reformat them a few different ways, but I could not get 256GB availability. They're fast and work as expected, but I feel it is a bit misleading to call them 256GB. Luckily the data set I am using is a little less than 231GB.

Great price for 2 drives. Thought it would be a little faster considering its USB 3

I wanted to upgrade the standard 64GB drive that came with my car. I'm happy to report this product seems to work fine. I now have 4x more capacity so I won't have to manage the drive as often.

Sorry PNY, but that "10x" claim versus USB 2.0 is hogwash. Maximum transfer speed for USB 2.0 is 50-60 MB/sec. My tested read speed for this drive was 116 MB/sec. H2tewstw's measured write speed was 19.6 MB/sec. So not a bad drive if you're occasionally transferring relatively small files, but for transferring large video files? Meh. My test took 3 hours and 20 minutes to fill the drive, so roughly 1.2 GB/min. I would have taken off more stars but to be fair these drives are in the same performance range as others at this price point. Just be aware of what you're getting with this drive.
