Q: Would these be compact enough for travel?

Yes..mine regularly travel in my hand luggage between LHR and Australia...no trouble at all, if however the guy/girl checking hand luggage is under 50..you may have to explain what you use them for !

Yes, I have very fine hair that tangles on other rollers - these are smooth and give me a good curl. I've used a lot and I like these. Each curler is fairly light but the whole thing is quite heavy - I use a smaller set to travel by plane but they just fine for normal use at home.

Q: Are these dual voltage?

Yes they are. They come with a European plug and also an English one that you can easily convert
