Perfect for my TEFL course
I purchased this book when I started my TEFL course and it’s been brilliant. I couldn’t have done my assignments without it.

The best book for TEFL
This is a really excellent book, you can work through it on your own or as part of a course but every chapter is clear and you can come back to it later to pick up an idea or two (or more).I used this book as a main text for my CELTA course and it really was excellent. The DVD also gave lots of idea and advice to actually teaching English in the classroomThere's lots of useful stuff in it, my advice? Buy it!

excellent
I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly this book arrived, well ahead of the estimated delivery date. The book itself is in excellent condition, especially considering it is a used copy. The pages are clean, the cover is intact, and there are minimal signs of wear. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and would highly recommend this seller. Thank you!

A quick run down of additional details
Just arrived so not had more than a flick through it but thought I'd provide some info that I couldn't find when I was deciding whether to buy this book:Pages: 416 (208 sheets of paper) excluding front and back cover.Black and white diagrams and tables break up the text throughout (no colour except for covers)Printed and bound in Thailand (at least my copy was)I very, very roughly guesstimate it to weigh around 700g - bear that in mind if travelling with itThere is a PDF version of dubious legality on the internet but it's a poor scan, the real deal is much clearerI bought my copy 2nd hand on Amazon but it is in perfect condition

Well written and covers everything
This book covers everything you want to know in becoming a CELTA teacher. It's well written and love the real-life commentary he includes throughout the book. Put my mind at ease, as I was worried about so many aspects but the author was encouraging and reassuring, providing good examples throughout the book. Would recommend to all.My only issue is that the learning resources section does not appear to be on the DVD. Strange.

a philosophy on teaching.
Talks about teaching techniques based on research regarding the best ways of learning and remembering. The author gives personal opinions and evidence to support his theories.Only buy this book if you're thinking about becoming an ESL teacher, as reading the book out of curiosity alone might prove to be a waste of time and money.

Good investment
I am at the stage (having done an online course and in vivo teaching practice) of needing more answers as well as more ideas and this book is by one of the most respected teachers who doesn't try to pull the wool, so far as I can see, about tefl, but is transparent about his motivation to develop the practice and generous with his thoughts. I can see any teacher would never want to enter a classroom without this book somewhere close at hand.
