ACME58.5 Brass Thunderer Whistle

There's not much that needs to be said about this. It's a sturdy item, feels very well built, and is extremely loud. Easily gets the attention of rowdy Cub Scouts!

I bought this to help me train my Doberman and his recall, what can I say, ITS LOUD, REALLY LOUD!!!It's working a treat and saves my voice if he goes too far or if yet again someone freaks out in the park because a huge scary looking daft as you like Doberman looked over at their labrapuggle, I whistle he gets cheese, I get my dog back, win win. Feels great quality, little tip don't blow it too hard first time in the house, my ears were ringing for ages and my poor dog jumped out of his skin like Scooby Doo had just seen a ghost.

Good and loud but lost a star as was not so well made as previous incarnations we have had. Perfectly serviceable though.

Crows are fascinating, intelligent and highly inquisitive animals, so obviously my children wanted to befriend them..! What better way than being able to 'talk' to these amazing birds..?This decoy caller works a treat and all the user should do is follow guidance from a resident expert on Youtube, as we did.. the learning was half the fun.Hours and hours of fun, getting answers back.! Became clear that this murder of crows were actually asking questions... Amazing what we can learn.!The call/decoy is a perfect pitch, very well made, pretty maintenance free.! Top quality item.So, if you've inquisitive kids or just plenty of spare time, these are just the ticket. Enjoy.!

This is a LOVELY whistle in that, not only does it whistle properly as all the old-fashioned whistles, whistled (unlike Asian copies which have a pathetic whistle attempting to act 'grown-up'), but is a pleasure to hold with its solid feel and handsome thick coating of chrome as though it has been poured over. Its defining whistle carries you back to the days of yore recalling memories of the school playground - surely, just ONE reason to own one of these admirably crafted 'tootles'! It certainly more than met my expectations so I'm really pleased it was chosen from the family company who make them. Don't bother with cheap imports, this is the kiddie!

Good noise. Effective for signalling my brownies to come back from where they were running around a field. In hindsight, maybe a quieter whistle would have given me another 5 minutes of peace! Oh well 😊

Not easy to master. YouTube instruction is good. Once mastered it's surprisingly effective for corvids. Crow is easiest to achieve and also easy to mess up. I can't as yet manage pigeon. I've called corvids, duck and others just for fun. My son mastered pigeons first blow, but his crow sounds like a strangled duck. So it's obviously down to the individual to get right. If it's any help my crow call is a sort of hum come rolling of Rrr's whilst blowing but, daft as it reads it works, crows answer and in they come.

First try it sounds like a party razzer, and it feels like really cheap and brittle plastic. I would have expected a metal one at this price. However it certainly does the job. After watching a video on YT I got the hang of it in less than a minute. And can now summon Murders of Crows and Unkind flocks of Ravens like a scene from Ragnarok or Game Of Thrones! They chase off all the cats and pigeons. Great fun.
