SGILE Remote Control DinosaurI have had a few similar Velociraptor Dinosaurs over the past several months, all are much the same size but with different colour schemes. Out of all the dinosaurs that I've had I do prefer the Velociraptor as it is the most menacing, look into those eyes and I'd swear they look back at you. This particular model is in plain brown which I have to be honest, is not my favourite colour scheme on these Dinosaur models.The Velociraptor arrives in pieces which have to be assembled, you need to attach both arms and the tail, they pop into place with a small screw included to prevent the limbs from falling off again. A small screwdriver is also included.What I particularly like about this model is that it has an inbuilt rechargeable battery which will last around 1 hour on a full charge. You do need to find a couple of AA batteries for the remote control, but they do last for ages and rarely need to be changed.I do love these type of remote control Dinosaurs, they look quite scary when bounding across the floor towards you. There is a built in demo mode where the Dinosaur will demonstrate all of the moves that it is capable of. I have found this works best on a hard floor, but they will work on a carpet provided the pile is not too deep. Sometimes the Dinosaur will fall over if asked to turn too rapidly. We have several of these in different designs and they're pretty impressive. It's really well designed with a realistic appearance and when activated, the dino can actually walk forwards and backwards (it's quite fast!), complete with suitably menacing sound effects; there’s also an auto mode to see the dino in action without any direction necessary. Works best on smooth, flat surfaces, mainly because of the design of the claws and the relatively small surface area of the feet in relation to the weight of the dino itself. It DOES work on low/medium pile carpet but is a little more prone to toppling.Overall, a superb toy for a child who loves dinosaurs: it’s something a bit different from a static dino toy or a remote controlled car - and it certainly looks spectacular in motion, not to mention rather lifelike (eek!). Added features like different sound effects might be nice but I think for the price, this is great.N o t e s / T i p s :- The dino needs charging for approx 2 hours (this provides around 2 hours of play)- Remote control uses 2x AA batteries (not included; mini screwdriver to access battery compartments IS included)- IF the red light on the remote control is flashing continuously and your dino isn’t moving, make sure the switch on the dino’s belly is turned on so the remote control can connect.

The media could not be loaded. OH MY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWD! I love this! Even as a ( supposedly ) grown adult I love it. I could leave my review there because it's so good but I'll go into a bit more detail.Firstly, there is some assembly required. You have to screw on the arms and put the tail on. It's very easy and a small screwdriver is supplied. It will only take you a few mins. No problems. You also have to install two AA batteries ( not supplied ) by unscrewing the back to the remote. Plug the charging cable into his butt ( this is supplied ) and soon you will be ready for some dino fun.The thing looks great! Very impressed with how good it looks. I especially like the eyes. I'm not too sure about the claims of "realistic" given that it's eyes are blood red and it's mouth has a bright blue light inside of it. I am no palaeontologist but I would be surprised if the actual animal had these features... and not to mention the wheels on it's too fount feet. I don't see this as a problem though. It's something that's fun and could spark the curiosity of a child to find out about the real dinosaurs.The remote control is fantastic too and leans into the dinosaur fun. The controller is a dinosaur fossil. How cool, right?! It's easy to control. You can make it go forwards and backwards, left and right, and roar. Love the roar! There is also a demo mode where it will walk around and roar on its own without your direction. Unlike some other reviewers, I had no problems with this thing tipping over. Maybe they did not install the arms correctly? When it is in motion this thing looks great! Love it!As you can probably tell I really love this. I'm over 50 and my heart is full of dino joy and wonder. Highly recommend this. Any kid ( or hid at heart ) will love this dinosaur.
