Well Designed Unit
Good solid sturdy junction box with connection Ring supplied, well thought out design and very easy to connect up tidily and then easy to see visually if all are connected correctly, does the job well.Unlike previous reviewer, no NEON in the box (didn't expect one as it's not supposed to have one, and there is no window to fit it behind anyway)only point to note really, no cable glands supplied, so you'll have to work out what you need and purchase them separately, not really an issue as there are a lot of cheap options out there for 20mm holes (which is what these are when you push out the blanking plugs.)Good price too when supplied with Amazon free shipping

Qulaity, Quality, Quality !
I have use a lot of MK stuff over the years, and some Non-MK products too... usually when I have used non MK, I have replaced them with MK ones at a later date !This junction box is no exception... I used another make because that is all I had at the time, but it only stayed there a week until I replaced it with this one.. it I superb for the job and has 'knock outs' on all sides, so you can tailor it for your needs... nice neoprene seal too, to keep the inside dry, but do use the proper glands so as not to compromise the water proofing ! … not much more to say really :-)

A Quality Product
Initially purchased cheaper junction boxes but was unhappy with the quality and sturdiness so did what I should have done in the first place. Bought quality. Never been let down by an MK product

Strong, deep, well made, but relatively expensive
The junction box is made from re-cycled Polycarbonate plastic and seems quite strong. The box inner dimensions are 90 x 90 x 35 mm. (3.5 x 3.5 x 1.3 inches approx). It is comfortably deep enough for 3 or 4 cables. The sturdy, but loose, inner connection unit is a 4-way type with 4 brass screw-type terminal blocks, which are well-made and adequate (L.N.E. & Loop).. The box has a matching polycarbonate plastic cover with a rubber seal which should be effective against dust, damp and moderate water ingress. The product description says the seal is a gel, but it is not since it is clearly made of solid rubber. There is a “top” sign to which you have to align the box and cover, otherwise it will not fit and seal perfectly. A pack of 4 screws are provided to screw the cover tight to the box... but, they are too long and fit very tightly, making it difficult to secure the cover to the box, which is a design fault. The box itself has to be screwed to a wall, but no screws (No 8 size) or wall plugs are provided… an over-sight? It means you will have to buy some, if you do not already have the right size screws and plugs. This junction box is suitable for connection to MK brands of conduit and cable entries which, of course, are not provided and are available as extra purchases. There are 4 conduit entries and one has to press out the relevant entry blank to access the box. They result in plastic against plastic seals which may be water-resistant, but not fully waterproof. There is a drain hole, which is optional, and which you have to drill out, if you fear condensation or wet conditions. Naturally, as soon as you connect cables to the box, you reduce its water-proof qualities, since cable entry is how water can get it.The box contents includes a fluorescent neon indicator, consisting of 2 sheathed wires and a neon bulb. This is a ridiculous item to provide with a junction box, which has no means of connecting it and/or displaying it. There is no neon light window in the cover etc. Clearly it is meant for a switched fused connector unit, which has to have a neon on/off indicator light, not a junction box. It is pure carelessness for the manufacturer to include it, as it will only confuse the installer as to what is its purpose ?The instruction leaflet which comes with the junction box is written for multiple items… switches, modules, enclosures, and junction boxes, and units with or without neon indicators… so the instructions are confusing, and could apply to any of the other items, which one hasn’t purchased. The quality of the junction box is quite OK, and perfectly fit for purpose, but it seems expensive, since equivalent junction boxes are available at about half the price. The guarantee is for 20 years, which is very reasonable.
