Q: This came without any instructions. how much water do i add? also no spreading stick so what do i use?

You mix a small enough amount of water to make a slightly loose paste. Go by the way it looks. I used my finger and a popsicle stick.

Q: What is proper ratio of mix/water? I’ve tried several ratios, but I am not getting a solid hold

Hello, The mix needs to be somewhere between creamy and runny. If there is not enough water, then it will be difficult to smear on the blocks, and will also not stick to them and instead just stick to the spreading tool. I hope this helps. Dustin Acacia Grove

u have to add fire clay to mortar when you are building chimneys and ovens, if this is actually lime cement and sand wich is what mortar is you"ll want to add clay, typically the clay replaces the lime

for that qty of brick you would prob need a few packs of mortar
