I was expecting to receive the typical chromed pipe nipple with male ends. This one was male at one end and a female at the other, eliminating the need for an extra fitting.

Do use a washcloth on the pipe or something to protect the pipe when using a wrench to get the old off and new one on, otherwise might damage the finish. Might not need a wrench to get the new pipe on if the washer meets an older part that is in good condition.I can do plumbing, I went to Ace to get a washer instead of using tape only, then noticed later there are 2 better washers inside the sleeve the arm is shipped in. Only need 1.You Don't really need tape if you are lucky, but i use my premium tape plus the washer for overkill and no leak. Again, you will damage the finish if you use a wrench without any cloth or gripper to protect the pipe from the wrench teeth. Overall i recommend this product.

Fit right on perfectly and the chrome appears to be a better quality than some. Time will tell but as an extension is working just fine.

Worked for what I needed

I had a shower head that was too close to the wall and when I used it, the water wouldn’t project far enough. So I searched for an extension arm for the shower head and found this brand which came in 16” and 24”. I chose the 16” and it has made all the difference. It was very easy to install as well as I just had to screw the end into the wall fitting and then screw the existing shower arm into the extension. This extension turned my shower head into a semi-rain shower head. Perfect!

The diameter was too large for the old flange to fit on it.
