Wow! Great product!
This straw is great! I have a family member with mobility problems and struggles with staying hydrated. This straw lets them drink without spilling their drinks. It does look a little funny, we both were laughing about it. It works fantastic and really helps! Great job! Thanks again for this outstanding product!

Sturdy and helpful
I have arm weakness/pain so have trouble raising heavy drinks to my mouth. These are working well so far to allow me to drink without lifting the cup. There are plenty in the package and they seem reasonably sturdy. I love that I can bend them to suit my needs, and they keep the desired configurization. I stay hydrated by keeping one next to my armchair, one next to my bed, one in my bathroom, one at my desk, one in my car, etc. I am not sure how washing will go yet, but I have to keep CPAP tubing clean, so I imagine I will use a similar method. I agree with other reviewers that they are wider than most straws, so some people may have trouble sucking from them.

They've definitely come in handy for us
My husband was in an accident that made him paralyzed 4 months ago. I had first ordered these when he was stuck in a special bed having to lay flat for 8 weeks. He had to wait for someone to be able to come in and give him a drink. However they weren't quite long enough for how he was positioned so we tried putting 2 straws together. Also had to tape in place or else he couldn't get it himself. If you're not able to sit up to be able to drink out of these you need to immediately tilt the straw up as taking out of the mouth or else liquid will go all over the place even back down a throat that wasn't prepared so choking has happened. He just got cleared to be able to start drinking regular liquids, not thickened and had to be careful about how much he was trying to swallow at a time to make sure he didn't aspirate. So at that time these straws seemed like a bust but he finally just got back home and we're learning how to do things at home. I couldn't find any regular sized bendy straws at the store by us and regular straws just won't work cause he can't sit up really so we have been using these long straws. Again I have to hold the straw and when he's done taking a drink I have to tilt it up immediately or else we make a mess. I have a cleaning tool I use for washing them that actually came with a bedside cup and a smooth 44in hose straw or else I wouldn't know how else to get the inside of them cleaned. I'd have had to throw away almost all by now if I didn't have that. He has to drink protein drinks and likes chocolate so it gets stuck on the ripples inside the straws. It even sticks to the outside where I put it in the drink so I suggest if you get these also make sure you have something to clean them with cause these are too much money to be throwing them away especially if you're using them as often as we are right now.

Perfect for 100oz mug.
I use these for a huge 100oz mug from Mugs N Coffee. This straw is long enough to reach the bottom, and extends horizontally about a foot. I've been cleaning and using the same straw for 9 months and it's showing NO signs of wear at all. The plastic is thick and sturdy and holds its shape reasonably well. Great for sipping from my giant mug without looking like an idiot during Zoom calls.

Too wide and not long enough
These were a good idea, but they are too wide so it takes a strong suck to get the beverage to your mouth. We bought these so we wouldn't need to pick up a drink from the console while driving, but they are about 6" too short and require that you bend down to do this. If they were the diameter of a regular straw and about 6-8" longer they would be perfect.

Not very usable
When ordering (which may be my fault) I did not realize not only are they long but twice the thickness of a normal straw and do not fit a standard cover cup. The extra thickness also makes it twice as hard to draw liquid up the straw. We purchased this for a disabled person and it was not usable.

Recommend. Useful. Versatile, durable. Increase hydration independence for:
Great as an adaptive aid, for difficulty in using hands, post surgery, CP, ALS, amputee, etc. This straw has two joints that take a small amount of futzing with in order to keep desired angles. Helps people to stay hydrated when they have difficulty or would otherwise have to ask for assistance with getting a drink. With the wrong angle they can experience some dribbling, but slight adjustment fixes that. Doesn't take a great amount of suction power to use. Appear durable enough for many uses, though with the grooves I would want to use diluted bleach rinse maybe and some sort of pipe cleaner especially if immunocompromised or risk for aspiration. I could see this being implemented in long term care facilities or hospitals as this has the potential to increase independence. Overall pleased and will recommend and buy again.
