Are these strings suitable for an electric mandolin, or will I have to use nickel strings?

If it is a solid body mandolin with electro-magnetic pickups, I think you would get better results with nickel wound strings. However, these work well with transducer pick-ups on acoustic instruments. Peter Mallinson (Almuse pickups) should have definitive advice...

I have recently bought a Vangoa electro accoustic mandolin. I would like to change the strings to a better quality can someone recommend a set ?

guess it will depend on your playing style and what kind of strings your mandolin takes ball end or loop. but as a rule you can't go wrong with D'Addario strings im a blue grass player and i like a heaver string 40 to 10 but as said its a matter of choice and you might want to try differ thicknesses of strings over time to find what suits you and your mandolin. sorry cant be of more help. Description says loop end. Picture shows ball end. Which is it??

I no longer use these strings but I just had a look at an unopened set that I happen to still have. It clearly states on the upper left of the front of the packet, medium loop end. I have no idea whether it's possible to get them with a ball end.
