Draper 61229 Emergency Hammer and Cutter , Blue

I believed it was gonna be way smaller and lighter than needed to break a car window, but once it turned up i handled and the weight is perfect. Lenght is about right much larger than expected, though it could be a little larger, but it's fine.The seat belt cutter is sharp, clean from rust and i think that is you follow the directions it should be able to cut a seat belt with no problem.The tip of the window beaker comes coverred with a plastic to prevent from rust.Abs plastic construction with side screws if you want to "modify it".It comes with a plastic holder to install inside your car, via the 2 screws that it includes or by 2 sided tape, wich i think is the best. If installed in the right place, its easy to "unsheath" in the right moment.For the price and the good quality i recomend it totally.

I bought several of these as gifts for little stocking fillers at Christmas for various family members and a year on three out of five of us has had occasion to use it. Great tool and easy to use ... haven't needed to use the cutter but did lock my keys in my car and was able to smash a small window in the back of the car easily and successfully retrieve my keys so was well worth it.

Thankfully I have not had to use this item in an emergency so I can only comment on its construction. As with any Draper tool, it is well constructed and functional. The hammer end is well weighted and I would have no concerns over its ability to easily break glass. Overall a very well constructed tool which resides in my car.

Have used other tools in this brand and always been satisfied.This is of good quality and solid construction with easy grip. Have given 4 stars as I have not used it for its purpose. Hopefully will never need to but I am sure it would serve its purpose well.Got this one for the car will get another for home use.Arrived day after ordering thank you evaQ8.

Very sturdy. It was more expensive than other ones but why take a risk with a cheap and nasty tool when your life may depend on it ( esp after reading the reviews for them). Anyway I hope I never have to use it.

I bought this because my daughter is renting a house with just top opening windows which means that if there is a fire in the hallway she is pretty much either dead or seriously burned along with my grandson. This product is ideal for breaking glass to enable an escape in the event of a fire should the room just have top opening windows. I am certain she has no idea where she has put it in the room but it is there?!

Not too bad for the price. Bought three for two cars and house. Thought it'd be a bit more sturdy as I remember the hammers on the school bus but would prob do the trick if needed.

All cars should have these as standard equipment, It could save your life in an emergency, (IE) A car crash or if you end up in a river. You could even use in the house to break single or double glassing in a fire.
