Q: The description shows this bow to be 62". is that accurate? the bear site lists the grizzly at 58".

The grizzly is 58" almost never trust an Amazon description. They are worthless.

Q: What draw weight would be best for whitetail hunting?

45 lbs is plenty for a whitetail. Fred bear hunted with that weight. Don't go under 40#. 50# or 55# may definitely be too much draw weight for a beginner recurve hunter. make sure to go to a bow shop and try a 40#, 45#, 50# bow before you buy anything. The biggest mistake beginner recurve hunters make is to get a bow that is too hard to pull back. Accuracy and precision are truly more important than draw weight with a recurve. depending on the arrow spine, draw weight and draw length, you'll probably want to go with a 125gr broadhead or heavier for whitetail as well.

Q: New to this and about to purchase this bow. what arrows (brand/length) and how many arrows should i get for the #40? any other gadgets needed?

We have some great Port Orford Cedar arrows manufactured by Rose City and branded for Bear. They will be spined for this bow and ready to shoot. We have different patterns and fletching colors but if you'll let me pick them for you I guarantee you will be happy. Arrows are fully finished at $159 / doz. Or we can talk about graphite traditional finish arrows by Easton, Beman or Carbon Express. We will preset the bow for the nock and spine and length so the arrows flight is fully tuned for spit finger or three under holds, your preference.Regards, Mark, Adventures Archery.

Any Dacron or Flemish twist string will work on the bow. As for the brace height 7.5-8.5" is recommended.
