This is no toy but rather a very serious kitchen tool made as an heirloom in quality. No wooden or plastic handles to go bad and let me tell you sharp is too mild of word this knife must be handled with care so you don't cut yourself. I am beyond pleased as I got mine on a bit of a sale for 28 dollars. Still this is not cheap when compared to others on Amazon. I order a different one for ten dollars but it was a toy when compared to this Gourmetly Mezzaluna Knife. Don't be fooled the one i ordered first had a dollar store level blade and was soooooo small at 6 3/4 inches. Just buy this one and have it for life and your kids life ~!

I got this mezzaluna for my mom who has arthritis which often gets activated from chopping too many vegetables with a knife. She has since switched to using this for chopping vegetables + Food waste ( we compost) and it has saved her hands. I use it and find it very easy to use, much quicker than a knife, and overall a great quality product. The one thing that makes me a little nervous is the washing - just be super careful as the edge is obviously very sharp, and if it's wet it can make it a bit more 'dangerous' to handle. Have never had an issue, though. Highly recommend! Great product I will buy one more.

I liked this so much I bought it for my daughters and grand daughters. They love it.

I bought this along with a LLoydpans pan to make Detroit style pizzas. Both items are great, and this does a great job of getting the cut through a very thick, doughy pizza without becoming sloppy. It's nice and sharp, and also works great for cutting a large amount of herbs or (cooked, in my experience) meat. I don't think it would struggle with raw meat, I just didn't use it for that. Not necessarily a problem - and I imagine this is consistent with almost any mezzaluna - but because there are only metal handles, it can get slippery while cleaning. With care, it's a great product and otherwise super easy to use and clean.

I don't need to chop up pizza that often but occasionally we will pick up a frozen pie from the store, slap some pepperoni on it and serve it up for dinner. Of course, while it is still hot we slice it into pieces and everyone grabs one. In the past we used the traditional pizza wheel, running it back and forth until the pie was cut all the way through. Sometimes it also meant that I didn't roll the roller back through the original cut line. Back and forth, back and forth until the pie was cut.I decided I wanted to try something new and different. I saw this model on Amazon and gave it a shot. I "mostly" like it. I feel that it makes much shorter work of the process of cutting up the pizza into slices. The Rocker Cutter is sturdy and should last quite a while. The cutting edge is very sharp. This item is definitely not a toy and something to be respected when handled. It comes with a plastic sheath to protect the blade while it is laying in the drawer. But in reality I feel like that sheath is protecting me so that I don't accidentally cut my hand reaching into that same drawer for something else.My main reason for giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that the process for getting the plastic sheath back on the blade is a bit cumbersome. I haven't found a fool-proof system for that yet so I always feel a bit cautious putting the cover back on. It's not a super-fast option. If you do a lot of pizza cutting this is a great option to have laying around. You could cut pies in a jiffy and entertain a bunch of people. Just take your time putting that protective sheath back on and you will be fine.

I really like the design of this knife. It is solid stainless steel with metal handles, not wood or plastic. I became interested in mezzaluna or rocker knives because I have arthritis in both hands. My grip is getting weaker and I cut myself several times using conventional knives. This knife is so much safer because you hold the knife handles with both hands and rock the knife over what you are slicing. Your fingers aren't holding the food still so they are away from the blade. I have used this knife on a variety of foods. It is very sharp and easy to use. It is attractive and it has a nice sheath to cover the blade when not in use. My only regret is that I didn't discover this knife sooner!

This thing is a rocker chopper. Doesn't chop rockers, but will chop whilst you rock. Cuts down on cut fingers, because both your hands are on the handles.Ok sensationalism aside, you don't really chop with it, you rock/ roll it side to side and that is more of a slicing action but the end result is very quick conversion of food into smaller food particulates, and that is a huge win because it's faster and easier than digging out the food processor. Man I hate that food processor.This Mezzaluna though? Awesome. Plus its a huge flex over all the people who don't own one. Common non-Mezzaluna owning scum. Flex on them.
