Stainless Steel Double Outdoor Wall Light IP65 Up/Down Outdoor Wall Light

Bought this as a direct replacement for an old fashioned lantern style outside front door light.It's heavy! Surprisingly so. Feels like a very solid piece of aluminium and instantly feels like a quality product.The ends for the bulbs screw off with an equally quality feel and there are rubber seals used throughout to stop water getting inside.It fits to the wall using a small plastic back box which has two screw holes (rawl plugs and screws too) provided, but there is enough space to drill your own holes through it if you needed to. Inside there are the 3 electric wire connections into a small connector block which you'll then add your electric connections into. Standard stuff and straight forward. The light itself then slides onto and over the back box and does up with a couple of small screws on the side. Very neat and feels very strong when mounted.Obviously it needs 2 bulbs. It can use 35w maximum halogen GU10 bulbs but I'm using 5w LED versions which run completely cold and put out about 50w worth of light, which is actually probably a bit much for an outside light - 3w LED version would be perfect I think.Lighting from top and bottom creates a really attractive effect outside the house and actually works far better to light up the ground below than the lantern light I had before, which is genuinely useful.Really nice product, which belies the price. Longevity will be the ultimate test but so far, so good. Would definitely buy again.

The picture isn't totally accurate as there is a silicone gasket between the box section mounts on the wall and the cylindrical part that holds the bulbs. This must have been removed for the picture. The wires inside are black and white, and don't follow any UK colour codes. The terminals are clearly marked L, N & E so installation was straight forward if you ignore the colours.Build quality seems OK. I did have a problem with one of the lamps and the seller was fantastic about the return and sent out a freepost label so i could return it.I havent had any problems so far. Would recommend.

I needed 17 of these so the price was WELL attractive. The cost of installing 17 isn't going to be cheap with all the wiring and switches, so I dont want to do it twice, eg if they rust, or break.To be honest at this price I was expecting them to be coated mild steel - but a quick magnet test says that its a 'annealed austenitic stainless steel (ASSS)'. OMG!But will they rust - from other reviews feed back (thank you all) - they say NOT (bar one) - however if they did - at least being AASS they can be cleaned up. I might give them a yearly thin coat of oil to bring out the colour and add to the protection.Another surprise was the weight of material - bashing it with a hammer you'd struggle to dent it.Construction is very simple tube, with screwed end caps and seals, GU10 socket fixed across the tube on welded brackets. The first picture above isnt this light - so have a look at my pictures instead.You get a little suction tool for replacing the bulbs - nice touchBulbs NOT included, which is good for me as I didn't want to waste money on halogens when I wanted LEDs -Overall - dam impressed! - If any criticism at all it would be with "Long Life Lamp Company" for a the NAFF Listing, that gave very little information and should offer this product with LEDs (You've missed a sale)

I bought a couple of these in 2014 for my new fence, I have had no rust problems. I have, however, had to change bulbs on a couple of occasions since installation. As I'm using long life LED's (10+ years) I'm guessing the problem may be due to water getting in. I also find it very difficult to change the bulbs - there just isn't enough space to get a good grip on the bulb. Maybe all the 5* reviews have never had to change a bulb?!!

IP65 so very water proof. The end caps screw on firmly and are complete with a silicon washer. I found that it was potentially easy to cross thread the screw if you are not careful, but absolutely fine if you take care. The bulbs (I used 5w LEDs) were slightly awkward to twist into place but a small plastic sucker device is supplied and this helps. Connecting wires was easy - quality connecter and waterproof grommet complete the picture.Wall fixings are provided but the holes in the plastic back block are not elongated - so a small touch of filing enables this and then any slight out of true wall drilling can easily be amended.Highly recommended - can't believe this quality at such a price and looks great when illuminated. Very pleased

These outdoor lights are extremely good value. Just disappointed that I didn't buy ones with a motion sensor. Consequently, you have to put the lights on before you go out if you are going to be getting home after dark. Otherwise happy for the time being.

I really like this light, looks good quality for the price and gives off a warm glow, enough light for near the front door. I fitted this myself and found it easy and straight forward, similar to wiring a plug. The most difficult bit for me was drilling the holes in the wall but that is probably down to old drill bits and me not being the strongest person. the little plastic sucker pad is very useful when it comes to putting bulbs in (bulbs not enclosed) I used 35w and it gives off a nice amount of light.
