So far, it’s great. I assume this brand is from Guatemala? As it was sold by hide and drink. It obviously does not come with a notepad, that’s expected. Was a tight fit getting the notepad in, and very tight if you keep a spare one in the pocket. This is fine and good design for leather as it warms up and breaks in. I have not had the opportunity to take it out in the field, but I imagine it will hold up. The clasp is very tight at first, requiring to be pushed out to open the book. This is, I hope, by design. As leather wears in it will be good and secure. The added thickness to the end of the strap is a good touch, a lot of other products with a closure similar to this, falls open a lot. More than enough pockets for writing instruments, and mini ruler etc. I am using it as a fishing journal to document weather, water conditions, returnable spots, and fish logs. Including small sketches of the area, to retrace my steps back to off-grid spots. Highly recommend for this.

Purchased as a gift for a young artist. Something small that can be used for quick sketches or taking notes as needed. I hope they are getting good use out of it. Ordered 3pk of blank field notes books to go with it.Felt pretty solid. Not sure how well the pens/pencils will fit into the slots. I haven't heard any feedback with that.
