Outstanding build quality
The build quality of this pedal is outstanding. I bet you could run over it 1000 times with your truck and it'd still be as new. It feels so solid and responsive under my foot that I just want to keep stepping on it. I use it as an expression pedal with my Quad Cortex, so I can see the exact values and that it's super accurate and responsive.

Worth it
Super convenient when you want to do volume swells. Very comfortable and steady. Good tool for volume control if you're using an acoustic guitar with a mounted pickup and a tuner that you put on the headstock. This pedal is the answer if you need to have no sound in the system when tuning.

The best of the best
Very smooth and responsive pedal...great at volume swells. Paired with a compressor and maybe a drive it's a perfect volume pedal

Great for bass players too!
Excellent live use. This tapers much better than the standard volume pedal from Ernie Ball. My band mates have noticed a significant difference as well. Much more control over the dynamic range, as well as great low-end response at quiet volumes.

Excellent Quality but with Limited Taper
The first that that struck me when opening the box was just how sturdy this pedal feels in the hand, definitely a high quality product, manufactured with quality materials and tight tolerances. And, in use, it goes from full volume to absolute quite smoothly with no noise and no tone suck on my jazz bass in passive mode (and I'm a tone snob). However, I did end up returning this pedal because the taper was no suitable for my purposes. All the meaningful volume change happens within a very small arc near the wide open end of the pedal, so I found it very difficult to use it for fine tuning volume, which was my primary purpose, and yes, I did try both positions of the switch that supposedly changes the taper, but didn't notice much difference. This pedal would be perfect if you're wanting to go smoothly from full off to full open, say for swells, etc, but I didn't find it suitable for fine tuning volume.

Love the Ernie Ball Volume Pedals
I've always loved the Ernie Ball Volume Pedals, but I've been always reluctant to get one for my own because of the issue with the nylon string that eventually wears off and leaves you with non-working volume pedal, however they really fix that with this 40th Anniversary Volume Pedal, not only they made it black with the metal logo inlayed on the top, but that cord has been replaced with a Kevlar one! This works perfect with both passive and active pickups!

It does exactly what it's supposed to do
Passive, durable, true bypass, with no noise added to the line or tone changes. It's literally a volume pot inside a pedal. It's great if you have a less paul style guitar and hate having to roll down 2 volume knobs. It's also cool for swells and quickly cutting feedback when you stop playing a with a high gain sound.
