Essential for any pond
I've used API products for my fish tanks before so when i saw they also do a concetrated pomd treatment i was quick to get it.Unless you have a large amount of plants in your pond water changes are essentialto keep your fish happy. I have a 10K L pond with a few plants but i'll ussualy do a partial water change when cleaning out the filters. I ussualy end up adding between 1000 - 4000L. When adding this much water a concentrated fluid is essential. This is a 473ml bottle with a recommended dosage of 5ml per 38L of tap water or 50ml per 380L.It's easy to use. The lid has an included measuring cup which makes dosing easy. Just work out how much tap water you're going to add then add the appropriate dose to the water, then add tap water. It's a good idea to add the treatment near water features or pumps for the best result. The treatment instantly neutralisea the chlorine and other nasty stuff in tap water. I took a reading before and after water treatment. I can confirm there was bo chlorine and the small levels of other stuff also looked better.UGood quality and value . Highly recommended. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it useful

Didn't notice much of a difference...
I am expecting possible nitrate spikes this year as the bed I used to giant cress to soak up the nitrate isn't usable on my pond. Unfortunately the nitrate reading of my tap water is also higher than desirable, so the product's suggestion to perform a water change won't help particularly much. To test this product out, I took a set of water readings yesterday, took two 1 litre samples of water, treated 1 with this product and left the other alone. I then tested these samples 24 hours later. I use a device which takes a photograph and then analyses the colours on the strips to record the figures 'accurately'.The values in the pictures for the 20th shows the pond on day 1. The first 21st is the test on the water over-treated with this product, the second on the 21st is an untreated sample. After 24 hours, the chlorine level in the water had dropped. Personally I would put this down to the chloramine leaving (or possibly ozone being mis-detected, the pond water wasn't fresh from the tap, and had gone through a big blue activated charcoal filter too). The ph had gone up slightly in the treated sample, possibly due to the treatment. The No3 had gone up in both samples, this is semi-expected as the residual ammonia from feeding, could have converted to no2 then to no3 in the water. The general hardness decreased in the non-treated sample, but remained consistent in the treated one. This is possibly due to settling out, but being replaced in the treated one.So possibly a product to keep around for emergency use, but I wouldn't rely on it if you can keep your systems in line without it.

Good value and great product from APi
This is definitely better value than other retailers for the bottle size and is great for conditioning tap water as well as being a treatment for high nitrite and nitrate levels (although you do have to use more to combat heavy nitrate and nitrite levels)I tend to do water changes if I have high nitrate levels but this can help to give me some extra time before getting the time to maintain the water and schedule in a thorough clean. The bottle clearly states the dosage rates for either conditioning/removing chlorine/heavy metals etc and dosage rates for reducing nitrate and nitrite levels. The cap also doubles as a dosing cup which is handy.I've used API products many, many times before and I've always found them to be very dependable products for both ponds and aquariums and this is another quality product from a name synonymous with water quality.A brand I've always trusted and for this price is well worth it. You'll pay way more at some of the popular retailers so this will save you money and even better if you buy larger containers that'll save you even more in the long run.

Removes chlorine from tap water AND helps keep Alage in check - a lot to like!
Does exactly as it says on the tin as-in it instantly makes tap water safe for fish by removing chlorine and chloramine from the water and detoxifies heavy metals, features which are essential for those of us whose ponds are outside and need regular topping up with tap-water during the summer months. What I like about the API brand is that unlike some other pond tap-water treatments that only deal with Chlorine, this one also reduces NITRITES and NITRATES. As the latter can lead to algae growth, this is a real bonus and whilst it is early days, if it does help me keep the algae in check, then I'll be using this on a very regular basis!

Good Water Conditioner
I use water from a rain butt for my water changes, but occasionally also need to top up with tap water, so having something that effectively conditions the water is essential for me. API is a brand that I have used previously so happy to try out this conditioner. API also do a ‘Tap Water Conditioner’ that seems to be intended for aquariums rather than ponds, but it is not clear what the difference needs to be for conditioning water that you add to a pond versus water that you add to an aquarium. I used this conditioner on my recent aquarium water change and tested the water afterwards. All the readings that came back were within the expected tolerance range, so I am very happy that this is doing the job. The instructions are clear on how much to add, and the cap is marked so that you can easily measure out what you are adding. I am happy with it – fish seem happy.

Novice pond owner
I don’t know enough to be fully qualified about making a full review of this product. My small garden pond is turning quite slimy and green looking.I thought this product would sort it for me and although I don’t have fish there are frogs. There isn’t any information on the packaging to suggest it is safe for them and although it is used very sparingly I don’t have the confidence to use it without further research?I am thinking it may help keep my water features clear though?
