Good to have but didn't use it.
This is like care insurance. You buy it in hopes you don't need it. I can say that the holder was great for clipping on a belt or even my pack straps. The size of the can was not annoying to carry.

Industrial strength OC canister, just in case.
Bought this spray in the large canister size to replace an identical canister that went flying off into the bushes during a horrendous hike in some mountains in the western U.S.We have never used this particular brand, nor this can size, in the wild however we have used police-issue OC sprays successfully over the years against everything from dogs and bulls to raccoons and even a rattlesnake and it has done the job every time. When hiking in bear country we are never without it.

Protection vs killing
Recent bear activity around the immediate area and was surprised to come face to face with one. Was about 15’ away maybe coming out of garage and took me by surprise but had no confrontation directly. So quiet this animal and then it’s right there. It was alerted by the barking of next door neighbors dog. Well, it went after it and I believe it’s gone now. The dog I mean. This bear was fast as hell so watch your pets. So now when I am outside I have another option other than using a handgun.

great product
I like out the outskirts by wildlife with a small dog, great form or security, east to attach to your belt, or pants. sturdy holster, easy to remove safety and depress trigger. comfortable to hold.

I was not eaten by a bear
Did not have to use luckily but glad to have. Pretty self explanatory to use and the clip was convenient. Will update if I have to use and am attacked by bear. 🐻
