As soft as a lipstick.
I have a few types of oil pastels, and most importantly, Sennelier have different shades/colours from other oil pastels on the market. For me it was crucial. Also, they are the softest oil pastels I have ever used - their consistency is that of a lipstick (they're made even in the same shape!) I use a lot of smudging in my art so I definitely consider it a big advantage. However, if the format of your work was big, you would run out of Senneliers in no time. Furthermore, sometimes I need to make thin lines and Sennelier won't manage. I use Gallery oil pastels then.Overall, I do recommend them, especially when you have experience in using oil pastels and you know how to make the most of it. Also, 24 colours is not enough to produce a decent piece of art, so either go for at least 72 colour range or supplement these 24 with cheaper oil pastels.
