love this for gifting and using myself
I am going to buy more of these, love how cute the markers and the roll for them is. They work well too but the packaging and the beauty of the designs really made the deal for me.

I'd buy a different brand
I was excited to try these and play around with them. I'm not big into markers because they don't offer much flexibility like other mediums but these seemed worth the try.I am a novice when it comes to watercolor pens/markers. I did not know what to expect exactly. I took them out for a spin and tested each one. A few seemed a bit on the dry side so I let them sit overnight upside down hoping the ink would settle better into the brush tips. I don't think that made any difference. As I was swatching, I noticed if I made very gentle, small strokes I could get a nice thin line. The amount of pressure I placed on the marker determined if that line would be thicker. What I also noticed is that bold brush strokes were often a flop. Some colors performed better than others. There were markers that just were too dry and I was left with very sad looking lines. It occurred to me that maybe the problem was me and I just didn't know how to use them properly. So, I did some research and came to 2 conclusions. 1) to use these as true watercolor brushes you need very smooth marker paper so you don't hurt the brush tips and you are able to get better effects manipulating the markers with water. 2) many people use these as typical markers for coloring purposes. So, I did try using a smooth marker paper to see if it improved the color delivery to paper when making bigger bolder strokes. I also tested how much I could manipulate the ink on the paper. I was disappointed that, I had the same problems on different, better paper. As for using these to color like regular markers. I cannot suggest them because they are inconsistent from marker to marker in terms of how dried out they are. It's no fun coloring when your marker is showing signs of dying. For very fine, small projects, where you can use just the tippy top seems the best use for these. But I found it difficult to control the thickness of the line.Bottom line, while I'm far from an expert on these marker types, after doing some research and my own experimentation, I think you could find better watercolor brush markers at this price point. Of course it is possible I got a bad batch or I'm just too lacking in know-how, so keep that in mind. But based on my experience, skip these.

I like them
I can't compare it to other brush pens as I haven't gotten any other before. In the pictures it may look like the thicker line was dry and didn't really come out, that's because it didn't. But when you actually start painting and coloring with them more the flow improves. These are fun to mess around with and seem good enough quality for a newb like me.I got these just for messing around with and doing some fun, simple watercolor stuff, they do the job just fine.I do like that it comes with an extra watercolor brush pen that is just for water and no ink, that way you can use it along with the inked ones if you needed to.The case it comes with is super cute too!Now...the coloring book...nice pictures.Poor quality. Definitely can't use the brush pens on it, as the paper is too thin AND has designs on both sides of the paper. Also the designs are way too small to use with the brush pens as well. You'd need something that is super fine tip and that can be very precise. That being said, the added coloring book is a nice idea, but poor execution. Therefore I don't think it really adds any value to the purchase. Now with THAT being said these brush pens are a little more pricey than others if you are just considering the pens themselves, and not the added coloring book and carrying bag.Would I purchase these at the current price of $25? probably not, since I tend to go for cheaper and more quantity (which I saw) or if I know for sure a brand has a certain quality I am looking for. With the above mention, if this product dropped the addition of the coloring book and lowered the price a bit I think they'd have a better chance against competition.Because as I've said, the brush pens themselves seem to be a pretty decent quality.
