I hadn't done DMR because there are no DMR repeaters in my area. Since I discovered Pi-Star, I've been having a blast connecting to aalkgroups all over the world with this thing.Pros: Low cost. easy setup. Rock solid once you get it up and runningCons: Lack of assembly instructions, difficult to assemble case (I left the cover off)The software setup instructions are pretty straight forward. The Micro SD card included had an outdated version of Pi-Star, so you might want to flash it with the latest greatest. It had trouble connecting to my WiFi network, but it includes directions on how to generate and install a config file that fixes this issue.The all metal case does not snap together easily. I left the cover off to improve cooling and because it may hinder WiFi connectivity.In all, it's a nice little box that does exactly what I need.73KK7PAB

Worked fine for a couple of weeks after assembly, the DMR light would not come on and repeater not found. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to assemble, program, and use it before the month was up.Update: Contacted seller and after checking settings, they are replacing the pi-hat. They have moved to 5 stars for standing behind their product.

The case can be a bit of a pain to get apart and put back together, but the fit is perfect. The setup and programming had a learning curve to deal with but I was able to get it up and working with no problems. I would buy from them again.Thank you for the tech help and standing by your product

Exactly what I was looking for (mmdvm hat for a raspberry pi zero). Just to save anyone else time, it does not come with a raspberry pi, you'll need to buy one elsewhere. However, this little kit is packed with extra attention to detail that puts it well ahead other sellers. It comes with the mmdvm hat and case of course, but also a preloaded sd card that has the pi-star software already loaded onto it! This saved me hours of attempting to find the software and install it on my own. It also includes some very helpful startup instructions to get your hotspot linked to your wifi, get started with brand meister, and up and running in minutes. 10/10 would recommend, if you're trying to get into digital amatuer radio this is by far the best and least expensive option out there. This plus the raspberry pi only cost $60. Any other prefab hotspot will run you anywhere from $100(if you're lucky) to $350. Pro tip; get a raspberry pi labeled WH this stands for with headers and will save you hours of tedious work soldering the headers into the raspberry pi's circuit board. As advertised. Knocking a star off for the case being so hard to put on and take off. Which I suppose can be a good thing. Had to bend it with a screwdriver to get it back off. I and using the wspd software rather than the software provided for the system and it is working just fine.

Great kit! Easy to set up with the included instructions and has good functionality covering multiple digital modes. The case looks great. Unit connects easily to wifi and the firmware is well designed.

Hotspot works good, but the oled screen does not work. I followed the instructions that came with the hotspot and everything is set up correctly. Cant message seller directly, I would not buy this product for the lack of support and defective product. Not worth the hassle to send it back and I cant wait another week or so for deliver. Maybe the seller will contact me to resolve this issue.

This is a great hotspot. The only issue is that the Hat floats over the Pi with no support on the front. You have standoffs in the back but not the front. I used a straw to place on the two edges of the board to stabilize it. Not a big issue but makes it better so the board is not just hanging.
