Great tent
Updated review: 2023I just wanted to come back and say how amazing this tent is. This is my 3rd year using it and have been in a number of storms. The tent is still holding up and able to withstand heavy rain storms. The price has increased since, but this is a quality tent and comparable to other name brand tents on the market for typical car camping.Great tent for the price! This is my third and largest tent all from different manufacturers. I use it as a 2 person tent or 1 person tent. With 1 person there is plenty of room but also works for 2 people with room to spare to store things like shoes and bags in the tent.It would be cramped with 3 or 4 people. Perhaps a baby or a dog would be ok.My only wish is that it was a bit taller and easier to get in and out. But as long as you can bend and crouch you shouldn't have a problem. It did very well in a rain storm. No moisture what so ever and no condensation.Made from sturdy materials. Not easy to set up with alone, but it can be done. Easy set up with 2 people.I highly recommend this tent!

Love this tent!
This review is based soley on setting it up in my great room so it hasn't been field tested.I was looking for a tent around $150-200, had to be a 2 pole dome tent (ease of set up) be able to handle rain, be able to stand in, have a good amount of floor space. On initial set up the tent flew up. I have a target brand tent that takes forever to set up because of 4 poles. I take my 3 and 5 year olds camping during the summer and they're no help when it comes to setting up the tent. The rain fly went on easily too.The quality of the tent is evident from the get go. The materials feel thick and well made, especially the fly. This tent is basically the Cherokee with a bigger rain fly, so the Gould give you an idea of what it looks like. There are two doors, the footprint is 10x12 (the box said 10x10). I didn't get a chance to set up the rain fly in full, but it has two zippered vestibules that can be folded back during dry weather. I am 6' and can stand in it. Quality is good, solid zippers, taped seams, all looks really good. Best part is that the tent easily fit back in the bag.The only negative I have so far is the design of the doors, in that you have to unzip 2 times to get out. You unzip the inner door and the outer screen door.I chose this tent after looking at all different types, brands, styles, etc and reading all the reviews of the other NTK products. I will update my review after our first outing!Update 5/13: Set it up in the back yard. Still nice and easy, solid. Best part is its versatility, since you can have both vestibules fully open (both flaps folded), both closed, or some combination. One downside I noticed is the lack of side windows, which makes ventilation a little less efficient. Leaving both screens open helps, as would pointing the doors into to the wind.UPDATE: 9/3/17If I could give this tent 6 stars I would. Just back from a labor day weekend campout where the first night was very windy (Harvey remnants coming through Ohio. 20 mph wind with gusts to 30+, one heavy downpour and some more steady rain. Not only did the tent stay bone dry, the wind had little effect and the tent held strong getting hit broadside with the gusts. My brothers Coleman tent (with the Weathertec system) was caving in all night. As long as NTK keeps making tents, I will be a customer!

Just over 4 stars. Good materials, fairly well made, 3 season tent
Setup & TeardownThis tent is large and really is a 2 person setup. But with 2 people, it goes up in just a few minutes. Can easily fit 2 queen mattresses in there.Waterproof abilityYou need to the have the rain fly on to be waterproof. The rainfly itself is a high quality material that is nicely waterproof out of the box. I went ahead and applied 2 coats of a waterproof spray. The first night of camping with it was EXTREMELY wet conditions but this tent was bone dry. I could feel some water on the backside of the rainfly which I think is normal but I do plan to apply water proofing to that side. Note that the rainfly has a note on it to not expose it to direct sun for more than 14hrs straight without some sort of UV protectant.PolesThe poles and sleeves are not color coded like you see on some nicer tents. Not a big deal on this one with only 3 poles. My big complaint about these poles is that there is not a little resistance built into them from pulling apart like you see on higher end tents. This can make setup and teardown more problematic. Just be patientVentilationThe ventilation of this tent is pretty good as all the inner tent upper is mesh. So without the rainfly on, you have more ventilation than you could possibly need and with the rainfly on, as I assume most would use, you have still a lot of ventilation. So much so that I would say that it doesn’t really retain heat all that well. The mesh was indeed bug resistant as we say many land on it but couldn’t get through.FloorThe floor material is made of a tarp like material that is waterproof. However its very thin and I can see why people complain about it tearing. I haven’t had that experience yet but I did find a perfectly sized 16mil tarp to go underneath it (it’s a couple inches short smaller than the base, exactly as you would want it). https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0854669VR I would recommend this tarp as a must have accessory. Bonus is you can fit it in the tent bag if you keep the fold up tidy.Other notesThere are 2 storage pouches. I wish they were higher up and on the sides with the doors as they are right at the height of your head when you have an air mattress. My tent did have a small ~3” section of a hole due to a missed a stitch where the floor tarp meets the body right under one of the doors. A fairly easy repair but disappointing out of the box. However not a showstopper.ValueThis tent is overall a very good value for a mid-tier priced tent. Its basic with all the must have elements but low on the bells and whistles. But it seems fairly durable and weather tight. I would like to have seen more options with the rain fly to allow easier entry and exit but, again this is a basic model and a price point to match.
