Q: Does this fountain have 1 plug in for the pump, and another for the led lights? Or just 1 plug-in?

I have one I use indoors with led lights and there are two cords.

Yes your right one plug for pump and one for lights. I love this fountain!

Q: are the bowls open at the bottom or is there just a hole? My birds love to get in my other one put it is open all the way down.

No holes in the bottom of the cups, except the very top one, where the water comes out. The rest of the waterfall effect is from spilling over from the “spout” on each cup. The top cup, where the water comes through, is covered with a bit of foam.

The bottom hole is small where the water returns. Depending on the size of the birds, some can go in the bowls.
