How do you get this machine clean? What’s recommended in the manual isn’t enough and despite wiping it up it smells!

Just bought mine and have only used twice. I did clean after each use per manual instructions and have yet to experience odor. You could run vinegar and water through the machine on a clean area of floor. I would use the formula suggested, replacing cleaner with vinegar mixed with recommended amount of water. Good luck!

Does anyone know why the dirty water tank leak water when being removed? It happens to us at first time use, leaving dirty water all on the floor!

I do two things - one just before use and one just after use. Before, I double check the float stack to make sure its float is not stuck (like, turn the stack back and forth) and then make sure it is seated AND ALIGNED in the dirty water tank (look for arrow and the notch) and the ring is snug. AFTER, I dump the dirty water then remove the float stack and rinse it well and tilt it to make sure nothing is making the float stick and then reassemble after everything is pretty much dry. I learned the hard way with an older, bigger Bissell that the dirty water parts can get stuck with hair, lint, etc. On the new one, I learned on the first day that, after dumping and rinsing the stack, make sure that bottom ring is snug.

will it suck water from wet carpet?

Carpet cleaning machines are designed to suck water out of wet carpet. That's how they work--they put water with cleaning fluid into the rug and then they suck it back out.

what is the width of the cleaning path on this model?

Mfr website says 7.5”. I think it’s more than that-about 10”. It’s not real wide. All I know is it works great. Not intended to clean an entire house but it will. You just need to take more time doing it that you would with a larger unit.

Poor Response from Amazon

This product blew our electricity. Different voltage to Ireland. Amazon should have known this. Product was also broken. I was sure I ordered from Amazon.EU. Amazon Warehouse arrived.We are now being asked to fund the return to Amazon. Product was also broken. First time ever being disappointed by Amazon's response. Not the fault of the customer service agents I dealt with. They were lovely. Have had an account for nearly 20 years.

Wrong power connection

This item uses the power level for the USA and has an American round pin plug on it. If plugged in a converter plug it would probably explode as our power level is so much higher. Why it is being sold to a UK customer from the .co.UK site I have no idea.Item has been returned to Amazon.

This product is good however it comes with an American plug attached, so purchased an adapter from American to English but failed to work so be aware of this plus long long delay on delivery

Do not order for UK use! Returned!

This product is not suitable for use in the UK, it had a US plug on it and when I contacted Bissell Customer Support, they said it's a US model and they don't support it here. It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't compatible with our mains electricity either as the US use a 110V system! Had to return it.
