What's with the double pricing amazon?????  this 12 pack is sold everywhere for $21-$28 and many of those sites offer an additional 20% off sales

Manufacturer is sold out and once we sell our current inventory, we may no longer carry this product. The market for this product is hot with high demand from buyers. All of the websites that normally carry the product appear to be out of stock.

What is the shelf life for these? Not the expiration date per se, but how long exactly after production will they keep.

The expiration date is actually a reliable guide to when the shelf life has ended for these bars. Based on my long experience with them, I can tell you that they will go bad--even getting genuinely moldy--within a couple of months after their expiration date. But I don't know how long after production their expiration date is set for. One other thing: it is crucial not to let these bars get squished or roughed up. Any opening in the wrapper will lead the bars to go bad (i.e., get moldy) very quickly. The bars will also leak oil onto surrounding objects if they get sufficiently squished in luggage that the wrapper opens a tiny bit. This all might sound gross and discouraging, but I love these bars.  That they go bad as they do is, I assume, simply the cost of their being raw, cold processed, and otherwise formulated as naturally as they are.

What are the ingredients? Does this one have tapioca syrup instead of agave nectar?

Yes, this one has tapioca syrup (listed as the 3rd ingredient) but it's not very sweet at all so it must be minimal.  I am vegan and generally, I only eat nutritious foods with no added sugar.  This bar is my only dietary exception. They taste wonderful! I use these bars only while I'm cycling or hiking. I feel like I'm eating a salad and I love the taste. I'm sick of Lara Bars. (Lara Bars taste a lot sweeter) This bar also has Flax, broccoli and quinoa sprouts, wheat and barley grass juice powder, carrot and beet juice powder, Spirulina (seaweed) pea and pumpkin protein. Where else can you eat a salad on a 80 mile bike ride in the mountains or backpacking in the Sierra?  This one tastes a lot better than the "Whole Food Nutrition Bar, Green Superfood" made by the same company. The latter bar has agave nectar but I don't really like the taste. The "superfood" bar tastes kind of like a Lara bar and I'm sick of those. I bought 3 boxes of this Active Greens bar this year.  I begin my hike next week.  I'm hiking from Tuolumne to Donner Summit and my pack is full of these active greens! Soon, foods will be required to list "added sugars" separate from naturally occurring sugars. The bar contains dates, raisins etc. but only lists 21g sugar and is larger than the "superfood" bar that has 25g sugars coming only from dried fruits (like Lara bars). Other healthy vegan (vegetarian) backpacking food I use is "Outdoor Herbivore" Happy Trails!
