Worked great for my thermostat
I bought this thermostat lock box to stop my little ones from raising the thermostat every day as they keep turning up the air conditioner and increasing my utility bills. These thermostat covers are great options if you don’t want to pay for overuse of electricity or gas.Complete with all the hardware you need and fits my thermostat perfectly . What I love most about this thermostat cover with lock is that you don’t have to do anything but attach 4 screws to the wall. The back is completely open, you can just place it around without removing anything. The quality of this thermostat cover seems to be very good. It has hinges, which is very convenient to use. The stability of the lock is also very good. This thermostat lock box is a money saver for me. No more worries~

3/16 inch drill bit is the right size.
I was frustrated to see that the instructions do not specify what size drill bit to use and I had to experiment to get it dialed in. I found that the 3/16 inch was a good fit.Otherwise, the install was easy and I think it will be effective to keep the thermostat safe from my toddler’s curiosity.

Works as expected but had increased power usage
The lockbox definitely works as expected! But is not a very affective long term solution. The boxes were easy to install and while a bit flimsy at the hinges it's not a big deal as it does the job. The box has vents all the way around the edge that sits by the wall to let air in. This is where my complaint comes into play. I have a room mate that kept messing with the upstairs AC temperature when I wasn't home and it has ran up the power bill. I have the ability to see daily power usage on my power company's app and I could see where the power would spike over 20 kWh on average for the day. I have separate upstairs and downstairs AC unit so I bought 2 of the boxes. The upstairs seemed to work perfectly fine but the downstairs one for whatever reason would constantly run. I waited 3 days to see what the usage would be like and it remained over 20 kWh higher than normal power usage so I took the downstairs box off. The power usage seemed to settle and go back to where it was normally within one day. I would say this box works decently as expected. My downstairs situation may be a different case, but overall the box does what it's supposed to. I'd give this a B rating overall. Affordable, easy to install, and works relatively well.
