This is an excellent product for restoring wood that has rotted.
This is an excellent product for restoring wood that has rotted. Once applied and sanded, it can be machined, drilled, and fasteners attached easily. Couple of suggestions for use: 1) Mix small batches kneading the 2 parts with your hands like dough, and 2) wear nitrile gloves. I found that smooth gloves (vs. textured) work better to avoid the material sticking to your gloved hands. This material is a little hard to spread into your work because it likes to stick to your tools. For best results, I applied the material to the work with my hand pressing it into place and then smoothed it out as best as possible with a flexible putty knife. To finish I used a 40 grit disc grinder to remove most of the material followed by 60 - 220 grit progression with my palm sander to achieve desired final smoothness prior to finishing.

Just like putty
My review is delayed a bit, but now I have been able to start.... This stuff is great. My 35 year old redwood deck is partly covered, where the rain hit was starting to have issues with rot. I about had a heart attack after receiving bids to replace the deck. My daughter suggested this product, after applying in a test area, I am more than pleased. The old supporting trusses aren't mushy and voids filled nicely, the decking is restored, strong enough I feel safe walking and enjoying my deck again. This project was done for me by my kids. It was a bit labor intensive, and took coordination to take off the boards, repair the support beams, then the decking. Things which helped: drilling out screw holes and glue in dowls is the worst cases. Applying Deck Joist Tape before re-setting the top. The railing was a bit more tricky but once figured out was a breeze. I am blessed for the labor of love my kids provided.

Defective product
First of all I've worked with different products just like this. This was almost hard in each bucket and didn't want to mix together and it was dry and clumpy. It didn't want to stick to anything or even to its self. Couldn't smooth it out and was not malleable. I don't know if it was really old or what but I need something that will work properly. I'm afraid that what I put in will just fall out the cracks I put it in.I tried to use it all so there is nothing to return.

Worked well to fill wood bee holes
I used this product to repair wood bee holes in my wood siding. Time will tell how durable it is for such a use. So far I can say it adheres well to the wood, was easily sanded, and takes stain well enough. I was even able to model in some grain lines to make it look more like wood. Use disposable latex/nitrile gloves to mix it! It is quite sticky once mixed. I overfilled the holes, allowed it to set up a couple days then used a chisel to remove the bulk of the excess then modeled in some fake grain lines with a sharp piece of wire then stained it. I’m happy with the result.
