Solidly built and intuitive to operate
This product is excellent for what it is designed to do. The stand is sturdy and well made, and the magnified image is clear. The progamming is robust and intuitive to use. The one disappointment is the actual magnification. All digital microscopes for this market use a system of magnification that seems to bear as little relation to reality as the commercial thread count system for bed sheets applies to actual thread counts as understood by a textile specialist. In this case, the Matatastudio specification of 1000x clearly does not match scientific usage, but I was hoping to get at least 10x magnification whereas the scope is actually about 5x. This is great for examining coins, insects, small flora, embroidery, engravings, etc. But it falls short of what I wanted. It would be really good practice if Matata Studio explained how they arrive at their 1000x calculation, and this might encourage other manufacturers to follow suit so that consumers would know what they are getting.

Fantastic little scope.
I have tested a lot of these little "digital microscopes", some are better than others. This is one of the better ones.First, image quality is superb for a digital microscope. See the included image I took of the year on a 2015 penny. The entire image is razor sharp. You can clearly see some evidence at the bottom of the #2 that the mint die was experiencing some wear or damage. In short, if you can't read the details on a coin with this? They can't be read.Second, it hooks right to my PC, and when I do so and turn it on, I get the option to use it as a PC camera if I wish! Wow, super! And it works, I was able to access the microscope with several cam viewer programs such as the Canon camera utility and IPEVO Visualizer, which I used to take this image using my PC. Once again, the image quality is just superb.Third, it's actually well made and has quite a nice feel in the hand. There is no sensation of "just a cheap piece of plastic" here. When you lift it from the package, the build of it just feels quality. The stand? All metal. Nice.Lastly? They don't leave you high and dry with accessories. 32 gig micro SD card? Included. USB C cable? Included. And did I mention that it has an HDMI interface?!? And not only does it have an HDMI interface and can connect to your big screen TV...but it also includes...are you sitting down...a nice mini-HDMI cable to use! Talk about including stuff they didn't have to include (especially the HDMI cable) but they did anyway. Just fantastic. This has it all included. So, wow...works seamlessly with my PC...includes every conceivable cable AND a micro SD card...very well made...and image quality that is just GREAT. And as a serious amateur photographer, I'd shred the image quality if it wasn't good, but it is. It's VERY good. And it's less than $100.It's worth every penny they're asking. Definitely one of the better digital microscopes I've tested. 5 stars.

Magnifying Glass Not Microscope
This is more of a magnifier than a microscope. It works great at showing fine details but not for scientific use. I bought this for my son to use with his science work but he can still use it to look at objects up close instead. I love that it has a USB and can be connected to our laptop. To me, the price is quite high for what this device can actually do.

This digital magnifier is sufficient and works well for the price.
I ordered this for my friend who does a ton of electronics inspections and repairs. I have a fairly good background in this and he will conquer projects that I would not spend my time on. It is very fun to hear his stories of item rescues and repairs, even the failures. As soon as I spotted this I knew he would love it. His first response back was something like "I have been wanting one of these for so long"I requested some of his thoughts and here is what he said.Digital magnifier.Solid packaging well protected no damage. Easy to remove from the package with all parts and instructions included. Nice looking well designed, constructed, solid build, but not a super precision feel on the gearing and threads. However, it's what I would expect at this level. Could use a little more polishing on the aluminum parts and finish the edges a little better. Overall it has a feel of good quality. Despite its jerky movements I'm thinking it's going to be a very fun and useful addition to my collection.Pros:Nice large screen, great color.Powers up quickly.Charges with a USB micro cable.Cons:A little jerky on the up and down movement gearing.Fit and finish could be better. All and all it drops to a 4 star considering the target price point. I do not feel this is competitive at the next higher range. That jerky movement would hopefully not be as bad as the ranges step up higher and higher.Despite the concerns he and I will most likely come up with our own solution for the jerking movements. I have enjoyed watching him for years working with regular magnifiers so this will be even more fun.Would I order this again? Yes. However, I would shop this item against others of the same price range. I enjoy trying different brands out. I usually only settle on the same brand: 1. In a rush, as it is a known item. Faults and such. 2. When I have exhausted other means. Having ordered and returned other items or read reviews and fall back to the known.
