Great for taking steady shots while out and about.
This is exactly what I needed when I travel and want to take steady pictures while I the camera is zoomed in. It worked great while we were hiking and taking pics.

Good Piece of Equipment with One Flaw for my Gear
Nice and light weight but also seems sturdy and durable. The one flaw with my gear is that the top of the mount/handle is very wide. I have a camera case with two snaps at the bottom and the handle hits one snap but not the other. I realize a wider top to mount on makes it more sturdy but it's like an inch and a half across which I wish was a little smaller. Otherwise, a solid product.

Pretty Good
Good construction, OK material, easy to use, has 1/4 and 3/8 thread. I had to return it because I made a mistake when ordered (my camera+lens is way to heavy for this one). The point is here: Amazon's return/refund practice is the best. Couldn't be easier, faster, more efficient. Thanks.

Not a true hiking stick
It you put much weight on it then it slips and becomes smaller. Only for light walking. works great for the camera but not for hiking.

Seemed fine until I put it on my lens
I inspected the monopod when it arrived and it seemed fine however when my ultratele lens arrived and I attached the monopod, the top of the monopod wiggled under the weight of the lens. With each use it got worse until it was completely unusable. Might be fine for lighter cameras and lenses, but not for heavy ones.
