I am not a watch aficionado. I cannot tell you the specs and how watches are made (there’s probably a Mr Roger’s Neighborhood episode out there). What I can tell you is that this is a *fantastic* kids watch. I’ve done my time (ha) with the kids watch circuit. This is the best one I’ve come across. No batteries. A very well done watch face (my 1st grader was able to tell time within a few days), and this brand has some great designs (they’re made by Swatch). The one pictured is the design my middle schooler has and she loves the simplicity and easy to read face. Things that you might be on the fence about: fabric strap. Yes, it gets dirty, but so do my children. We can wipe down the band, and they take it off for seriously dirty endeavors. See: lots of colors to choose from. “And it’s not stretchy??” In my eyes, this is great. Look at those little babes, learning their fine motor skills. It’s not because you asked them to, it’s the sheer excitement of being able to tell time from the convenience of their wrist!And you feel good because it’s simple and classic and oh my gosh, does not have sounds and crap.You are winning this game, parents and grown ups.Go you.
