Fit is nice! no issues. Good quality for the money. The included top screen border is not black. It has a slight green tint to it. The matte black likes to attract fingerprints. Included button rubber pads are worse than OEM Nintendo in my opinion, less smooth. Everything else is perfect though. Installation is intermediate difficulty, hardest part is the top screen and routing it through the hinge.

UPDATE from 1 star to 3 stars: An Amazon representative helped me get a replacement, and now I've completed my setup. But, to be honest, I still cannot recommend in good faith this shell replacement, especially the black colored one. It's well made, but god, does it take fingerprints like crazy, and the worst part is that it doesn't let go of them; you have to scrub really hard, and in the end it's a lost cause. As soon as you use your DS again, it will get more fingerprints.I seriously don't think this shell is worth the premium price.------------------------The shell I received seems to have a manufacturing defect on the front plate of the lower screen. I spent a whole day trying to figure out why the L shoulder button was getting stuck when the lid of my DS was open. I completely disassembled the unit and reassembled it at least 8 times, I even tried 3 different sets of buttons and no dice. At the end I had to use the old shell part which now leaves my DS in this sorry state, as I had to remove the border of the lower screen to fit the new shell that was defective and a replacement for that is not included on extremerate kits.It seems the issue is on the space where the top screen ribbon cable sits, it seems to be poorly constructed leaving no space for the cable when the lid is open and obstructing the L button in the process. Now I cannot even return the defective shell replacement as I have already used most of the parts and I don't want to disassemble the unit ever again. Worst experience ever with a product purchased on Amazon.

Take your time, like seriously take your dang time. I know you people get excited and impatient but dont rush. The shell fits great and looks great. i went with the Black shell and ordered the white buttons and couldn't be happier. i had to walk away a few times cause i kept trying to rush it and would almost mess something up. be delicate as well use less pressure than you think then slowly add more pressure when undoing the ribbon cables or even prying the shell or screwing down. its worth it 100% think i might find another junk ds to rebuild in a clear shell next

Wish I could get a replacement face plate without having to buy a whole new shell. I accidently used the wrong screw and blasted through the face right above the D-pad.I really like the color, the quality of the paint/coating is not as good as the OEM cases and can fade with application of isopropol alcohol. I wiped down some of the surfaces on the inside to make sure the adhesive bits stayed in place amd noticed a good deal of transfer. The paint does not easily scratch and does not come off on my hands, that would be really bad. I do like the color very much (crimson red)! The plastic itself is on the softer side and you have to be very carefull and not over-tighten your hardware. I also highly recommend watching the instructional video before buying. It's almost an hour long, but worth watching. It comes with all the right screws and extras like the shoulder button torsion springs.I'd give it five stars if it weren't for the plastic being so soft and easily broken/stripped out holes.

This product is truly horrible. The plastic is very cheap and breaks easily, the screws strip easily even when being gentle, the pieces do not fit together well, some pieces were missing, and the quality seems to vary from kit to kit. The left shoulder button is nearly impossible to get on because there's too much force and the metal rod holding the assembly in place does not have a good enough anchoring. The housing fits unevenly together in some areas, and the instructions are very poor.Some important details were left out of the instructions that caused my console to short and is now damaged. I lost 27 dollars from this horrible product and it took a 60 dollar console with it. Very disappointed in this company that I once trusted. I will not be purchasing related products again, and maybe not even any products from this company whatsoever.

Easy to put together and fits very well with my ds lite. I was looking for a case that would update my 2000s ds lite that was in need of an upgrade. Super cute! Fingerprints do track here, but the case is more matte texture.

The quality of the plastic is pretty good, I spent way too long working on it. You need to remove the frame around the bottom screen or else the DS won’t fit. Other than that I had some issues with the included power switch and battery cover not really working (had to use the ones from the original shell). Only major gripe is that the top lid doesn’t sit flush with the bottom and is a bit askew. I don’t think I did anything wrong during assembly to cause this. The plastic seems to just fit a little off.
