221B Tactical Men's Maxx-Dri 3.0 Body Protection Airflow Ventilation Police Vest

If you wear a ballistic vest all day and by EOS your shirt is all soaked from sweat, then you need to get this thing! My ballistic vest becomes uncomfortable after just 5 minutes of wearing it. Since wearing the 221B Tactical Maxx-Dri 3.0, my undershirts get little to no sweat at all. If you are driving and have the window down you can catch a breeze through the sleeve which airs out your shirt and cools down your torso.The only recommendation i have is to get a smaller size. I am 5'9, approximately 175lbs, 33 waist and wear large sized shirts. I purchased the M/L Maxx-Dri 3.0 and had to exchange for the S/M size.My only complaint is it adds thickness to your tailored uniform. Wearing this with your vest will stress the buttons of your shirt, so i recommend bringing the Maxx-Dri 3.0 and vest when getting your uniform tailored.

Works great and allows air to pass through keeping an undershirt dry. Also, it doesn’t really add too much bulk under the ballistic vest. Great product.

This is a nice a vest that helps you cool down. I've seen some negative reviews about it not working. The key to this thing is that it will only work when you are indeed starting to heat up. If you're just sitting in the car, or outside for a short period or not really getting the body temps up, this thing won't do anything. I only notice this vest working when I'm outside for an extended period and I'm starting to sweat. When I hit that point, and my shirt starts to wick the sweat, I can feel the cooler air breeze through my vest, and there is a legit cooling effect because the air passing by is cooler and it's passing through a sweat wicking shirt that is damp from your shirt. I do wear an external carrier style vest, so air does pass through rather easy. Not sure how much air you're going to have pass through if you wear this with a polyester style uniform. But when it's hot outside and you're doing something like directing traffic, and you're starting to sweat, this thing will help you keep that sweat wicking shirt evaporate the sweat. This is not a vest where there is cool water is being pumped through and keeping you constantly cool. it's passive and will work when you're hot.I'm taking one star off because the back pieces must have some lose material because it pokes me in the back. They are hard springy like strands that suspend the vest. if they get lose from holding together, they poke you in the back and they're pretty stiff (think cleaning brush strands)

The vest has made these 100° day bearable. Same old issue during the heat but definitely a quicker cool down with the vest than without.Allows for air to move between the vest and body.

If this was priced under $50 I would have given 4 stars. First of all if you are expecting airflow from this, don't. You will still be hot on a hot day just like you would be, wearing your vest without it. The only benefit that this gives you is that your sweat will not be transferred to your plate carrier, therefore you will not need to wash your plate carrier that often. And washing a plate carrier is a pain. The second benefit, and also correlated to the first, is that there is no odor. You can sweat for 8-16 hours shift, go home, change your shirt and the plate carrier smells like you never wore it. Just for these two reasons and the fact that I can afford it, I chose to keep it and not return it.It is uncomfortable on the shoulders though. The weight of level iv plates pushing on my shoulders, leave red honeycomb like marks on me.I also have to tie the shoulders straps to the plate carrier with cord so it can take the shape of the plate carrier or else it shows on the sides. Its mostly made for inner soft body armor.If the company can come up with a sapi shape mesh front and back without shoulder straps and a way to attach them for under $50 then you have my 5 stars.Update: After using other brand ventilation panels, Im bumping up this from 2 stars to 3 stars due to the fact that it does provide the most airflow compared to the rest.

I do feel a difference when I wear this under my vest compared to without it. It doesn't stop you from sweating but adds a breathable barrier under the vest. I've done 115 degree days with and without it and my shirt did not smell as bad with this on.That being said the vest I was recommended was bigger than I would have liked. I'm 5'11 280 and got the 3x-4x as recommended. I should have stuck true to my size and got the xl-xxl. My mistake, but it works and is well worth it.

Holy Smokes, Batman! This is has to be one of the best kit investments I have ever made! I wear a concealed ballistic vest under my uniform shirt. I noticed the difference almost instantly! After an hour on duty I can feel my shirt or thermal sticking to my skin under the armor. The first time I wore this, I noticed it in the first hour. Not only did it mitigate the heat and prevent me from sweating, it also added a bit of cushioning between me and my armor. I seriously recommend any officer or security guard who wears concealed armor to invest in this!

The big difference that I found was that it eliminated the wet, clammy feeling. Does it make it feel cooler? Yes, some, but the big benefit is eliminating that wet feeling when body armor is resting directly on a sweaty T-shirt. I wish I had found out about these sooner.Dislikes? My only complaint is that the Velcro that is sewn onto the vest is not long enough. I'm going to have to get my wife to add another section on to take up the slack in order to get a good fit.Highly recommended!---OK, scratch the complaint about the velcro not being long enough. I just realized that while I had ordered a size M/L, what I received was size XL/XXL. The correct size should take care of that.
