Saved our cat.
We adopted a skinny cat from the shelter. She was so skinny she walked through the rungs on a gate when we tried to separate her for the first few days. Come to find out, she had profuse diarrhea. We tried different things and finally I got on Amazon and read people's reviews of foods to treat this. Within 3 days, the diarrhea was totally gone and has never returned. We were able to add other foods over the years as she tired of eating one food, but now she has developed respiratory issues with foods and we have put her back on HA and they coughing and sneezing have disappeared. Poor girl is very sensitive to allergens in food, I guess. This is hydrolyzed, which our vet explained means they process the food by breaking the proteins down into tiny, tiny particles as it is the protein she is allergic to, and this makes it so her body can deal with the protein. The only other food we found that does this is the Royal Canin (very expensive), but they offer a food that is hydrolyzed as well and she can eat that. She gets very ill on the other allergenic foods offered by Hill's, etc. Our cat could not live without this food.

Great for food sensitivity
I was feeding my 5 month old Bengal kitten Orijen Cat & Kitten dry food for a month, impressed with the healthy ingredients. The Orijen food was introduced gradually to him, but as the weeks progressed, my kitty started to have very severe diarrhea. It got so bad that he had to be hospitalized overnight at the vet, because he was becoming dehydrated at an alarming rate. After putting him on several antibiotics the vet recommended this hypoallergenic food, because it was likely that my kitten had food sensitivities or irritable bowel syndrome. Within 2 weeks of feeding him Purina HA, he was back to his regular self again and the diarrhea cleared up. I will probably keep him on this diet since it has been working so well.

Cat loved this dry food.
Older cat was having digestive issues (throwing up) and not eating well. This product seems to have resolved the issues and she always wants more.

Food came on time.
My cat would not eat this. It looks like dried up white cheetos. Does not really have a smell, and apparently to my cat, not much flavor. I had to return it; an expensive vet ordered prescription diet that doesn't work. Ended up buying Instinct salmon flavor and also Iams sensitive digestion and skin. Every animal is different; you just have to find something that works for them.

It does the job.
The vet prescribed for a cat that throws up hairballs very regularly. That has slowed down considerably. It took a while before the cats liked it. It’s horribly expensive.

our Siamese-mix suffered from cat acne on his chin that was painful and itchy for the poor guy
Despite trying numerous types of dry and wet food, our Siamese-mix suffered from cat acne on his chin that was painful and itchy for the poor guy. Our vet recommended the Purina hypoallergenic mix and it cleared up his acne almost immediately. We've given him this food for the past two years, and the acne has stayed away. It hasn't affected his bowel movements at all, and he loves the taste (he likes it so much, he sits pathetically licking his empty bowl until the auto-feeder spits it out). This food has been a game-changer for our cat.

In theory its ok
Ordered 2 bags, 1 had a puncture in it. No idea if it was contaminated or not so one bag was thrown away immediately

Good for allergy elimination trial
Glad to have this option for a fully hydrolyzed food so I can attempt an allergy feeding trial. The cat eats the food well enough and his skin and ear problems seem to be subsiding, or at least not worse. Expensive but it might be the only thing that keeps him out of the vet's office. He seems happier now, running and jumping etc, skin healing fair. Has been on it almost 4 weeks.
