Prior to purchasing this product, I read all the reviews and visited the Aura website for detailed information. Upon purchasing Bioactive Collagen Peptides NAD & ATP Support, I decided to follow the directions exactly which was “take one scoop per day with a cup of water,” instead of trying what others had suggested.Taste/Flavor is extremely important to me and it’s subjective. Flavor is influenced by more than just taste and smell. Visual and tactile senses also play a role. If I can’t get past the flavor, smell or texture, then I will stop using the product and feel like I have wasted my money.Day 1: I added a scoop to one cup of room temperature water and stirred. The product did not dissolve completely. The taste was most unpleasant and there was a smell that reminded me of chicken broth, which normally I like, but not in this case. I was determined to get it down and try again.Day 2: I added a scoop to 12 ounces of ice water, shake not stir, and the taste improved 98%, (slight taste - but closer to refreshing ice water with a peach colored tint than before) though it still did not dissolve completely.Day 3: I added a scoop to almost 16 ounces of water, then added ice and gave it a good shake. The product dissolved completely, with no taste or smell, and just a slight peach tint.100% improvement!Now that I worked through the taste, I was able to be consistent with use.Because I wanted to ensure that I was consuming this product in a way that would not compromise the efficacy and curious if there were other options like adding it to coffee etc., I wrote the company.I wanted to share what Aura said in hopes that it will help you with any taste, dissolving and/or consumption issues you may encounter.I am starting week 2 and though it is too early to know just how well this will work for me or make me feel, I have noticed my nails are growing finally. Since this is the only change to my diet, I’m assuming that the growth is due to this product.From Aura:1. The amount of water - can it be 12 or even 16 ounces? Since this is unflavored, you can go forward with 12 or 16oz. Originally, it was designed for 8.5oz of water.2. Adding ice cubes. We would suggest adding ice cubes after the product is dissolved in water. That way it won't affect the solubility of the product.3. The temperature of the liquid - can you add to coffee? Our R&D team suggested using it in cold beverages so that we don't affect the efficacy of the product :)4. Adding a drink mix or flavouring. You can use flavourings. It'd go really well with fruit powders. But we are not sure about the other flavourings. If you're interested, we are also launching a flavoured version of this product soon. So stay tuned!5. Very strong funky taste! I’ve been taking a (different brand) collagen supplement for 2 years and decided to try a different brand this time. I will be going back to my old brand immediately. I just can’t get past the slightly fishy taste of this product.
