Loved Scrubs Series 9.
I read lots of reviews about Scrubs series 9 before I decided to purchase. I was in 2 minds about buying it as the reviews were not great, but I decided to get it and make up my own mind.I am really glad that I did, as I really enjoyed it. Okay so its not the same format as series 1-8, so I kept this in mind and loved it.

Better than the original scrubs!
I loved season 9, more so in fact than the last couple of seasons of the main scrubs series (7-8).First, note that season 9 is supposed to be different; it's 'med school', not a standard hospital. There are plenty of new characters. Some of the main old characters are 'rotated', so, for example, JD does not appear for a few episodes.I personally really liked the new format. The new characters are interesting and have unique personality characteristics/ angles. There are plenty of new side stories. To be honest, I did not enjoy that much the last seasons of the main series. I thought they were running out of ideas and simply re-doing the same jokes again and again. Therefore, I greatly welcomed the freshness of season 9.The university setting was also, I thought, much more conducive to the type of jokes I have enjoyed throughout scrubs. My advice, at least give season 9 a try. Perhaps you will find, like me, that much of the criticism is plain unfair.I wish they have done a few more seasons of med school!

worst season ever - should have ended season 8
this season is a joke - really it's like the writers had a inside joke on just how bad they can make it.the story lines were all over the place, the end episode was nothing special just like a regular episode. Old characters where in and out, the new character where un-likeable and pointless. Its a shame that they made season 9 they should of quit while they were a head the end of season 8 was the perfect conclusion to this once amazing show.I would not recommend this to any fans of the show!!1

I really wanted to like it...
I think you have to view this series as the bonus hidden track on an album; not necessarily as good as the rest of the hits, but it's nice that it's there. It makes me think of the monty python spinoff "and now for something completely different", and I think that's why the final series rubs people up the wrong way; it feels like a spinoff. And maybe one that's a bit hit and miss... The biggest miss for me was the watered down, sickly feel of everything that made scrubs great. The comedy wasn't as laugh out loud hilarious, it didn't have the dramatic story lines of old, and the new characters all felt a bit weak in comparison. To be fair, series 9 had massive shoes to fill - was it ever likely to succeed in the same way as the previous 8? Probably not; changing the format for the final run meant that there wasn't much time for viewers to embrace the changes. That might prompt the question "so why bother?". I think the show was brave and groundbreaking - it went places mainstream comedy just doesn't go - and the final series is just another example of that 'not afraid to try something new' attitude. I liked it (most of the time) but I don't think I'll ever love it like 1-8. The highs: Drew and Denise. The lows: Cole. Ok, he's supposed to be annoying, but not to the extent that I want to throw my tv at the wall; the Turk & JD action is also disappointingly flat, like their hearts weren't really in it. I think series 8 will always be the finale in my head; series 9 is the step down, helping you a acclimatise to life without Scrubs edit :)

A good send off
More of a side series than a series 9. Any scrubs fan will enjoy it. But it doesn't feel the same as the rest. Shame it only has a few episodes due to a cancellation,

Still the best comedy around.
Season 9, to some, IS thought of as a spin-off but don't let this scare you off.Yes there are changes and not all of the characters from the first 8 years return but season 9 is still great.Donald Faison, John McGinley, Ken jenkins and Eliza Coupe return as series regulars into their characters Turk, Dr. Cox, Dr. Kelso and Denise.Zach Braff (6 Episodes), Sarah Chalke (4 Episodes) and Robert Maschio (8 Episodes) return this series as JD, Elliot & The Todd. The episodes with Zach are as magical as any in the previous 8 years and worth the watch.Other Favoritest that also make appearances include The Janitor, Ted and Jordan. There are also a whole bunch of new characters this year that help keep it fresh. The Newbies inlcude characters such as Lucy, Drew and Cole.I have loved every episode of this series and would recommend it to any Scrubs fan.
